I gave up for 6 years due to work commitments. Worst thing ever. You put on weight, your energy levels drop, and you get mental fatigue at the drop of a hat. Giving up will never be an option again.... Lets face it we all ride in our own competitive way... the fitter you are the more you want to compete. Its in our nature. As South Africans we generally love sport and the competition (just look at the reaction when the Springboks get beaten)? I guess you just have to find your own comfort level but quiting, even when you have bonked shouldnt be an option... just train a little more, or go a little slower?

The issue arises in the fact that they attacked the yellow jersey on a day that is regarded as the "winners day". It is common etiquette that no-one attacks the leaders jersey on the final day of any tour, and if you are going for the win, this is really only done in the final km's. Basically the race is run upto the second last day, and the final day is a celebratory ride in recognition of the hard work put in by the leaders.

Being a Blue Bull supporter for the past 39 years might have a little to do with it. Plus given that Victor, Bakkies & Fourie are likely to be missing next year may put them in the re-build faze??????? But i digress... yes Daan has done my knees and is extremely good.

They are the guys who are so concerned with telling everyone behind them what they are doing that they fail to see what the guy in front of them is going, which invariably is moving to the side or breaking and we all know how that ends up? 1 Lady and 2 guys went down... both guys broke collarbones and the lady had a bloodied elbow. The times between groups was just 2 narrow. Slightly bigger groups at the start and further apart would have been better?

Just bought a new set of Maxxis X-Mark UST tyres... not hugely made about them as Conti's have always been my preference... Are these the only ones so far in the 29er range that are UST?

If you are a nutter Alu frame with good components... a little heavier but no worries about throwing the bike around especially in the rough stuff

Does the Wednesday night race happen every week? What time does it start and is it the full perimeter or a track inside the park?

What do you use to lubricate the balance of the working parts on your bike? I know there has been a lot of debate on chain lubricants, but do you use the same ones on your pedals, derailers etc so that your bike doesn’t look like this? It may not be a favourite but Q20 has helped me keep the bike in top shape.

You had better stay away from any Lynskey dealerships. They are bling and titanium!!

Yea, I'm not convinced they did it properly... felt fine for he first ride, but slowly getting nice and soft again.

Is there a special way to fix spongy brakes? Have a new set of Sram X0 brakes and they feel terrible compared to my set from last year . 1/2 the braking power even though we have bled them twice... Does anyone know how to fix this or is this a common problem with the new X0 groupset?
