  1. Did you try get hold of him again? Banks often take a few working days to transfer inter-bank... Maybe you should try get hold of him just in case its not a scam I'm not saying its all fine, but the last thing you want is for the cash to arrive in your account and you have defamed him on a public forum... that could turn out to be a bit ugly Also maybe check with telephone directories for a Banson Mathews and see if the address is legit (use Telkom white pages)
  2.
  3. If you cant ride past someone, whats the point of running past the que? I know waiting isnt everyones favourite past-time at a race, but that doesnt mean jumping the que is the way to fix your frustration... (i have the sense there are a few people on this thread who would happily jump the que to move from position 150 to 130... whoop whoop... well done there!!) If seeding is your concern, then just do more races and the seeding will sort itself out in the end?
  4. In for the double... dreading the first climb on Sun :cursing: ... if i get dropped, will just classify it as a "training ride" :whistling:
  5. The Ironman triathlon’s first appearance in the New York area may be its last after the company raised the entry fee to $1,200. "This race may be one and done," John Korff, the event’s local organizer, said in a telephone interview today. "The price is too high." Ironman, which is owned by Providence Equity Partners Inc., suspended registration for the 2013 race on Aug. 13, citing feedback from customers and the logistics of staging the race in the New York metropolitan area. The inaugural race was held Aug. 11, with a fee of $825. "Producing an event in a large urban market is complex and challenging," according to a statement on the race’s website. "Addressing the logistical complexity requires us to reconfigure a number of elements in our race. We need to do more work to assess whether it is viable at a price point that our athletes find reasonable." Refunds will be given to early registrants who paid $1,200, a 37 percent increase over this year’s fee, Ironman said. While Korff, 60, said there were minor logistics issues that need to be addressed, the decision to suspend the registration was based mostly on economic reasons. Registration for the 2012 race sold out in 11 minutes. Korff, who said he wasn’t consulted about the price increase before registration opened, declined to disclose how many people had signed up for next year.He also said the decision was unrelated to the death of a competitor in the swimming portion or the Hudson River sewage discharge that briefly threatened to cancel the swim.
  6. Tubless RR Snakeskin... its the best tyre. Front and back and you wont have problem.... nothing that a heavy tyre wont also get.
  7. You can do a tubless conversion no problem. In fact its advisable. The EVO may be thinner but running a "tube setup" will more likely lead to hassles than tubless. If you are going to go tubless do it now and if you cut the tyre, then change to snakeskin.
  8. The police wont be able to do anything. The tacks in the road on the cradle route is an example of the melicious actions taken by people and still nothing has been done about it. You literally have to catch the person in the act.... I also think this may just be a dog walker who feels aggrieved about cyclists using "their" routes at Emmerentia. They always moan about cyclists riding to fast. Personally i have never seen any boards prohibiting cyclist but i have seen board saying dogs need to be on leashes (they should issue fines if dogs run around off their leash) I shudder to think the damage that rock would do if you come down there at speed? Broken ribs or getting smashed in the face!!! I wonder if a letter with photos attached to the Sandton Cronicle would not be a better option?
  9. Send the saddle back... its a problem with the Fizik. They should warranty it.
  10. Keep that photo to show the grandkids for when they ask what the BIG 5 used to be as opposed to the BIG 4!!!
  11. That is cold blooded savagery. Its sounds like the best excuse they can come up with is the ill treatment by their employer... if i remember correctly, it was the same excuse used when Terreblanche was murdered? Now its a stock standard reason.... Dying a slow and painful death would be to good for them.... We need punishment in its most severe form to deter people from commiting such atrocious acts... i'm all for severing body parts if you are a rapist etc etc..
  12. The good old days of the TdF
  13. Xtasy grips... better than ESI and specialized I have tried most of them and this one (and the mechanics agree) alleviate pressure on the Ulnar nerve in your hands, are thicker than the ESI, so have the gel feel, and soft enough not to cause that rough hard feel of rubber.... Oh and they only cost R50 (worth every cent)http://humpert.com/e...dukt=246&bild=1

  15. Question is did the moderator also get banned? I believe all that happened was he was stripped of his "moderator" title... doesnt sound like time fits the crime in this case
  16. Glad u are okay, but take heed of your own advice and stay away from the place? Would be like someone riding through Diepsloot at night on your own....
  17. Wish someone would have handed in my Oakley Jawbones and Rudy Projects on day 1 & 2 of the Sani Adventure. 2 Pairs missing and neither handed in... i find that hard to believe but then again maybe they are still lying on the route?
  18. 3 hours a days during the week and 5 to 6 hours a day on the weekend... they should call it "Divorce" race!!
  19. Seven-time Tour de France Lance Armstrong, fresh off his first 70.3 win in Florida just two weeks ago, used Ironman 70.3 Hawaii as preparation for his first Ironman in France in just three weeks. But he put in an impressive performance over triathlon veterans Greg Bennett and Chris Lieto to take his second 70.3 win in 3:50:55 and break the course record (previously held by two-time Ironman world champion Chris McCormack, who set the record of 3:57:18 in 2007). Montana-based pro Linsey Corbin, who was the runner-up at the Wildflower Long Course triathlon in April and who’s gearing up for Ironman Austria at the beginning of July, used a solid bike and run to take the win and also set a course record of 4:26:09 (previously set at 4:28:16 by Michellie Jones in 2005). Despite some of the toughest conditions ever seen on this course, the deep pro fields led to some fast racing times. Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii Kohala Coast, Hawaii – June 2, 2012 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, 13.1-mile run Men 1. Lance Armstrong (USA) 3:50:55 2. Greg Bennett (USA) 3:53:41 3. Chris Lieto (USA) 4:05:55 4. Maik Twelsiek (GER) 4:06:16 5. Guy Crawford (NZL) 4:06:59 Women 1. Linsey Corbin (USA) 4:26:09 2. Julia Grant (NZL) 4:30:17 3. Beth Walsh (USA) 4:31:47 4. Bree Wee (USA) 4:32:45 5. Melanie McQuaid (CAN) 4:38:57
  20. From what i have been told (take into account this is part hearsay), she followed a very strict training regime. She rode somewhere in the region of 20-25 hours a week (including spinning). This usually involoved some very long distance rides on Sat & Sun... in the region of 120-145km (on the mtb). So in the end it was all about training, and time in the legs... She is not a pro.... yet.... but there is no doubt she is one of two of the best marathon ladies in SA at the moment? Not bad for someone who works, has young children and isnt in her 20's anymore??
  21. try ..... http://www.photomarx.co.za
  22. Would think given his background of racing in SA and globally that he is qualified to make that sort of statement...
  23. Here's one for you... broke a spoke in my rear wheel on Sunday... took it to Cycle Lab at 12:45 and they had it ready and trued by 13:10. IMO that is service. Most shops ask you to leave the wheel with them for a couple of days as they are busy or dont have the right parts. Big
  24. Post the pictures of the UK delivery bike from ur shop
