  1. In my experience, you need to ensure your tap limit is high enough. I had an expensive visit to the bike shop for a service around R2500 I believe, and when I tried to tap my watch it was not keen. I soon got a call from Investec checking it was me and asking the usual security questions and I asked them to increase my tap limit. I have had no problems since.
  2. Thanks for the advice. I will definitely keep an eye out. I really just need some more kit, doing a big week between two bibs requires far too much brainpower for me
  3. This is awesome. It makes me want to go ride my bike... Really badly...
  4. Being relatively new to cycling I am wondering which kit distributors I should be heading towards for Black Friday deals. Are there any stores, either online or in person that usually offer great deals for black Friday? Looking to stock up on bibs and shirts.
  5. I'll be bringing my camping stove and moka pot
  6. I'm ready, now I can justify new wheels
  7. Make them hurt on Tradouw by pushing the pace as hard as you can, especially if you weigh 10kg less than the next lightest
  8. Not sure he has announced who yet, but it is good news for him. I suspect he will announce after his hour record attempt on the Factor.
  9. I am getting super keen for this... First bicycle race ever! Unless you count the group rides... They can get pretty racey
  10. He would want nothing less... It was a hammer in solidarity!
  11. Hopefully it is the last one, but not because you ditch the 'dales
  12. I look forward to hopefully having a look at it! Wow... What a bike
  13. Sorry for your loss really don't know what one could have done differently. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. I can only imagine which over eager kid may be put up to the task...
  15. I don't think this is correct. I did the segment yesterday and only the speedbumps were that steep.
  16. Not for long
  17. Having recently bought my first road bike and subsequently having heavily upgraded, my advice would be to buy something older and cheaper and make sure you like it then sell on and upgrade, or buy something else from the hub with 105 11speed and maybe carbon and not too old (spending a little more) but there seems to be quite a large resale market for them so if you don’t like it you can sell quickly and if you do you already have a decent bike. Other than that as the Phoenix suggested, add your frame size and some more specifics. When I went for my road bike build there were plenty of hubbers itching to help out.
  18. That's not even a CT500 let alone a SS500
  19. I have had Polar H7 paired with my Garmin FR945 for the last year, it has been pretty faultless apart from not recognizing device and having to repair two or three times. My Polar H7 has lasted me 5 years of pretty heavy use now and 4 straps... Very impressed with it
  20. Ag no man... That was unfortunate
  21. With the separations up front and a hard chase from the peloton, I don't think the break will make it
  22. Thanks! Really appreciate this.
  23. Sorry to hear this Morne. Glad you made it out relatively unscathed. Hopefully the bike turns up.
  24. If anyone has experience with Campy 11spd components, I would love to know how much I will need to set aside extra for servicing and maintenance. I am tempted to go for the Cannondale super six evo on the hub but I am concerned I am going to have shell out a lot more to replace any breakages or worn bits when the time comes. From what I have seen there are limited spares available on the hub especially compared to Ultegra and new components seem to cost a fortune. Any input is appreciated.
