  1. Yep, I’m running 11 speed campy shifting mechanisms with 11 speed Shimano/sram cassette and chainrings. The problems only arise when you start trying to mix shifters and derailleurs. there’s an article on cycling tips you can check out to see the groupset compatibility.
  2. After needing to service my road bike and my girlfriend’s road bike over the course of the week, I used the Slate for the weekend. I have only really used it in Knysna where I have run quite low pressures on the gravel and then suffered on the tarred sections, but at high pressure, the bike is surprisingly fast on the road. Also the supertuckability is great because of the sloped top tube, it’s faster on the downhills (it is a bit heavier) with the 43c than my supersix with 28c.
  3. I heard there may be a lumo green one coming to the classifieds soon
  4. I had a similar topic recently... I have a few questions you need to answer before anyone can really help a lot 1. New or used 2. Aero or lightweight 2. Disc or rim 3. To what degree do you care about resale value 4. Which frame material, and which wheel material 5. Do you want a power meter? Of course there are many more questions, but these are quite important to start with EDIT: Missed ROAD in title
  5. Swing me a message on my ad if you want to come have a test ride
  6. Just come give my Slate a try in Newlands, go up to blockhouse on your mtb afterwards and grab a beer at Forries. No pressure to buy it, but you are welcome to give it a try. The guys at Switchback Sports / ECC have a large compliment of Panaracer tyres, they have a slick panaracer with tan sidewalls available in 650bx42c. (https://switchbacksports.co.za/products/gravel-king-650b-brown?variant=28239639052387) I have found the panaracers on mine pretty fast, I even managed to destroy @puresavage on Chappies a few months ago.
  7. My prediction is that I am going to be in a whole new world of pain... Excited to see some of the race from inside the bunch though
  8. I would say skip, but I am usually in favour of skip.
  9. Wout has extreme power. He did not look aero at all in that sprint, I thought he went too early but nope... WATTS
  10. Probably not the most sustainable solution, but I guess he didn't have many other convenient options
  11. Yoh this is a revival and a half! Congrats
  12. Saddlebags are out, you need to put bar bags on your aero bike now. Bonus cool points if you have an aero handlebar too
  13. I thought we could snuggle...
  14. Is this going to be lap two after our team time trial?
  15. I stayed here during rowing regattas at Eikenhof dam while I was at school. It is a really awesome place, I highly recommend visiting. It is such a beautiful part of the world
  16. Looking forward to his leadout on Chappies soon...
  17. Not enough love for Brian on this thread!!! What a tank. He raced DC in 4:57 just two weekends ago as well. GO BRIAN
  18. Thanks for the help everyone, I really appreciate it. If anyone has a 30t spidering lying around, please let me know! I’ll create another thread with more details about the attempt closer to the time. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/chainrings/442979/cannondale-spidering-30t Thanks again
  19. I’ve narrowed it down to three options, 1.4km @ 9.4%, 2.1km @ 8.2%, and 1,5 @ 10%. I like the idea of the 30 because I then I have some extra if I’m not feeling so hot. I’d rather over compromise for the ascent and lose out a bit on the descent.
  20. I would have thought from running a 53/39 I was going to have to run a shorter chain anyway though... save some weights in links #weightweenies
  21. Evening all. I’m thinking of doing an everesting, and I was hoping to find out if I could convert my Supersix’s 53/39 spidering on si sl2 cranks to a 1x MTB chainring, I’m thinking 30t cannondale spidering. The reason I want to do this is because I am running campy super record and my max rear cog is 29, and this seems like a cheaper option if possible than a drivetrain upgrade. If you have any knowledge on the topic, please let me know!
  22. If you guys ever need a student to help out around the office hit me up... I am free from today until mid March
  23. This is awesome!!! I have chewed people's ear off about something like this on many a ride... I have had great experiences with fellow hub users but I know there are some bad apples out there. Next up is a deal with a courier service where we get a small discount and you guys can charge a small commission for the set up... I have spent far too much money at Postnet. Good job guys.
