  1. Go well Barry Your dogs are going to be well loved and looked after May you have smooth riding and gnarly skate boarding where you are now I'm going to miss your odes to the moon and beautiful mornings Benoni has lost its finest ambassador
  2. Alex Harris posted this on Twitter this morning, not sure if it is related? Folks, please pray for Andrew Bradford who was hit and run on his bike this morning. He is in critical condition at Sunninghill.
  3. The most aggressive and rude riders where those doing the double lap. They need to learn to wind in their egos, most of the late starters and charity groups are fun riders, these guys have done the race they paid for the 2nd lap is a bonus!
  4. How tough is the 80km MTB?
  5. As long as the wind starts after the swim
  6. Ok so I did something I shouldn't have....checked Sunday's weather...going to be windy!
  7. I am using IronFit Secrets for Half Iron Distance by Don and Melanie Fink I bought it in the kindle store and use it on my tablet. It contains 3 sixteen week programs - Competitive, Intermediate and Just Finish Really enjoying the training program but proof will be in the pudding on 19 June..
  8. My week so far. ... 3000 points were for a Zone 2 ride - I have a naturally / unnaturally high heart rate *Edit* included 20min Z4600 points for 2 hour Z2 run100 points for a 90min swim My biggest gripe about this whole debacle is that I was looking forward to reduced air fares, I don't think that is going to happen EVER The gym rebate is also a farce because most working people need to have the country-wide membership so they can train both close to the office or close to home, so I miss out on that one The free smoothies and coffees are a plus but I hardly get to use them all.
  9. I was one of the first on the scene, bakkie turned into the Timber yard in front of him. Happy to report that he is relatively ok no broken bones. His bike however is not! Thanks to the couple who stopped and directed the traffic and the group of cyclists who stopped and helped. Scary though with Fourways Life just down the road that the ambulance took an hour to arrive
  10. 1 week of a cold and PND 2nd week stated coughing - antibiotics and nebuliser Now 3rd week - back to cold and PND Enough already! 5 weeks to 70.3
  11. I'm Looking for bike transfers JHB to CT for the Discovery World Tri in April?
  12. I must say I've never had any issues with cycle lab in the Cradle, the marshal usually shouts out watch left and they they mostly pass with a friendly morning shout. Once or twice someone has passed very close to me but I blame the individual rather than the club? Although I do get offended when they shout slow rider left
  13. The swimming isn't picking up anyway have queries with Discovery and they still haven't got back to me
  14. It did when I first got my Suunto because it was a mission to set-up (had to have same login email as discovery etc..) I do sync Movescount to Strava but I have used: Movescount->MapMyFitness->Discovery instead because I swim and MapMyFitness picks up My indoor swims unlike Strava Maybe try that?

    Germiston 5150

It was tough out there, the ladies really had the worst of the conditions with the least time to finish in, the organisers really need to find a different way to handle cut-off. Was my watch confused or was the run longer than 10kms? So sun and wind burnt today!
  16. On Friday evening I saw a taxi on William Nicol in Fourways with a Thule hang on 3 bike carrier, I'm not saying he didn't buy it legitimately but it is one hell of an expensive taxi ornament....
