  3. If you thought there was nothing to do in Gauteng, check these people out. http://www.spottedchameleon.co.za/ . I have no affiliation to them but people don't realise just how much there is to do in Gauteng.
  4. thanks for nuffing muxman
  5. that's kinda what I thought but as I know very little about alot, figured I'd better as around. Thanks for the info. Now about pricing in Australia to here...any suggestions?
  6. finishing is always a good goal
  7. I have a female friend who would like to do triathlons (not sure why, but that is another story) What bike should she be looking at? (As we have no idea what to look for, she hasn't set a budget however entry level is probably close to her mark) . She is going to Australia next week. Should she look for a bike there?
  8. got it shifter, will let you know.
  9. thanks klapperknop but these are the cx's not the parve. The parve are used in the paris-roubaix because of the cobble stones and are very durable. I've heard and this is only hearsay that the cx's puncture quite easily.
  10. thanks zaskar. I will look into it if I can't find the parve
  11. Anyone know where I can get a vittoria parve tubbie. Mine is shot and my LBS can't get them (apparently they aren't bringing them into he coutry anymore) Alternatively is anyone getting something from total cycling in the next short period to share the freight costs? And finally, if not the vittoria parve, then what other is suggested. The parve is known for its "puncture"resistance. what are the other options?
  12. there are 2 kinds of cyclists..those that are going to fall and me. 2nd stage, the road rose to meet me...still finished the second stage but sat out the 3rd. Had the unfortunate displeasure of riding with a club called black rock. Not a pleasant experience. Met Poke and LizziB on the way as well.
  13. Not when last I looked but then who's your daddy....
  14. Will you all stop beating the man to the ground. He is trying something new, told everyone he is not competing against BL isn't selling this on a huge commercial basis, may just find a solution by accident to a price problem and is having fun doing it. If we shot down everybody who was trying to create something new, we'd all be riding dikwiels instead of gizzion rand mountain bikes. Leave him alone you bullies, afterall BL started somewhere. (I will say though that bl has put a heck of a lot of effort and work into his lights so he does know what he's doing)
  15. posted this picture the other day. This is the bikelane I propose
  16. what.. he needs instructions for a "doll"? Don't you just blow the thing up?
  17. don't forget the bonking, don't forget the bonking... you gotta love this sport
  18. Anyone know where my hat and coat are, this is going to get ugly
  19. Here's another thought to deal with Mr Cliff. Large companies are putting in a fair wack of money into cycling, toyota, standard bank neotel, mtn are a few that spring to mind. These are the very same companies that advertise on 5fm. Now the reality is that standard bank is not going to suddenly pull their advertising, however, there must be more than as few high place execs who cycle. Perhaps it's time for them to get "inspired, motivated, involved" and whisper in a few ears about Gareth's shortcomings.
