  2. SPD's. There are various pedal options available to you based on what your budget can afford. Or, Crank Brothers for egg beaters, with the same various options depending on your budget SPD's are the most common and popular by far. Both OEM's manufacture flat's with spd's or egg beaters inside them, maybe you want to look at that option if you ride flats most of the time. They're all bullet proof enough, and as they get more expensive, so do their ease of servicing increase and the weight is reduced. The cheapies you can just toss if they run a bearing.

What pissed me off, was that Gauteng cycling officials were running around all over the place looking all too important to control their minions, yet they were happy send their flock into that race knowing of the dangers. No one had access to the route before hand except the powers that be, and I'm sure there would have been a rather large outcry if entrants had seen this before the race day. Absolute disgrace if you ask me, regardless of having one less marshal to help control traffic for riders to cross a road
  4. Who was the race organizer that decided to hoof the 70km riders along the side of the R59 highway in the sloot, with traffic, then against traffic on the way home? You had plenty other routes to use but instead used the water furrow on the highway.... I don't care who you are. You're an idiot for selecting that section. And csa... You lot should have stepped in and changed the route, when you approved it before it even started. Morons... Its the least I can say

  6. What's the bare bones cost of a frame only? Without the frills of top end components to get it over the 130k mark? And I dunno why you all worry about weight... A good toilet session before you ride sorts that out for you every day

  11. To me your best solution will be to create a through draft/cross ventilation to bring the inside temps down. Some people create this through draft by opening all their patio doors, then lifting the garage door about 100mm off the floor. The trick to create the trough draft is to make sure the air exit area is about twice the size of the air entry area. This allows the air to accelerate through the house which pulls more in - ala venturi effect. A simpler way to is know where the prevailing wind comes from. Then, open the windows, say a 1/3rd, on that side of the house. On the opposite side of the house, open an equal or more of them up fully and leave the interleading doors open. Use a burning candle to see the airflow directions throughout the house and you'll be able to work out which incoming windows are effective at what gap opening versus the ones that are not. Its not a 10min exercise, but if you have kids that are bored it can give them something to do for a bit (or, send the MIL around to open and close stuff, that'll keep her out of your hair. They love to do that kind of sh*t anyway) You could also install a whirlybird vent or two into the garage roof, but you must ensure that there are ventilation holes around the immediate area to allow the whirlys to pull the air into and through the garage. If not, they'll pull air in from the house door and this could end up adding to the heat problem. They also need to have direct access to the space in the garage and not only the roof - ie: they need to be ducted past the ceiling boards. Google is your friend to give you some cross ventilation ideas. Note the prevailing wind directions and you'll be able to figure it out. Just check in some of the diagrams on your search they show a dust trap - mommy will hate you more if you dont put one of these into your grand ventilation plans
  12. Its the difference of having an item in stock, or advertising you have an item in stock (but dont) then have to scurry around suppliers to find one. And when suppliers are out of stock or had a price increase since your previous website update, the standard reply online is then that its either a new colour range or a higher price.   20. I'd say around 35 to 40k, problem is the spaghetti bolognaise of different components. If they were all xtr, or slx I'd say 45k or little more. Very nice bike that. What frame is it? 2017 fs1 or fs2? I ride Norco too
  21. Would it not be opposite? The wheel's doing 32+ but you're actually going slower (ie: wheel turns more revolutions to get you the same distance /speed/time stuff)
  22. Without using the calculator, I'd guess 2000mm is for a 26inch wheel and 2300 for a 29inch wheel

If I was manufacturing for a big brand name and they informed me they'll withhold payment due to lack of their sales (note, manufacturers carry the can here), I'd tell the brand name to get stuffed. The days of the brand names wagging the tail are over here, this is why we see a surge in knock off frames, local builds etc. Sort of craft bikes if you will
