  1. For a short week that is only half done, it sure was a prickly one. Somewhat abstract Aloe. Lino mono print, black ink on white paper.
  2. Joh Dale. Last time you made the Bellville CBD look good, I thought that was a lucky shot, but now you did it with Kayamandi too! Can I please schedule a photo shoot with you, maybe you can even make me look good!?
  3. From the Oudtshoorn side I find it more of a bitch. It is steeper and it gets steeper the higher you go. You start easy enough, then when your legs get tired, it gets steep, when your legs are really screaming, then it gets REALLY steep. It also makes you think once or twice that the Top is just around the next bend......and then there is another bend....and another one. The only way for me is to just pace myself and grind it slowly and as steadily as possible. I've never measured it, but the Oudtshoorn side is shorter than the Prince Albert side. But just to be clear, I'm not moaning, I LOVE it!
  4. Hey, what's wrong with aluminium wheels?????
  5. https://www.iol.co.za/business-report/luanda-is-the-most-expensive-city-in-the-world-for-expatriates-12397908 Aag all you first worlders, for once you have nothing to complain about, Africa can teach you a thing or two about being an expensive place.
  6. I really hope that this is the light at the end of the tunnel you have been waiting for LWB
  7. They should have just given the EFF a stake in it, that would have made them happy, like they were happy with the VBS gazillions............untill it crashed like SAA will if they were involved
  8. Stella wearing her hand-me-down wetsuit for the first time. What a struggle to put it on, she thought I wanted to wrestle, but she got used to it very quickly.
  9. Thank you so much, finally I know what to tell my wife when she says I spend too much time on the BikeHub and should re-paint the bedroom ceiling!
  10. Enjoyed Mindhunter and hope they make more
  11. Since this is the AWESOME thread, I'd like to make sure we all understand that angels come in all kind of disguises Officers and homeless person help deliver healthy baby girl (msn.com)
  12. I like the simplicity of the look, but just think they should have called it the Superlight rather.
  13. Urban ride with S and Beattbox . Stunning stunning Cape Town Winters day for exploring the neighbourhood, take in a light history lesson, sniff out all the little green areas in the suburbs, up the skills on pavements, curbs, steps, subways, bridges, a little off-road and end it in a very civilized fashion with coffee and scones.
  14. ..................and THIS weekend was the PERFECT time to do it!????
  15. The way the table in the foreground blends into the background simply scrambles my perspective and my brain into seeing your laptop as if it is HUGE.????
  16. Fixed it for you???? Edit: Or how about Iced Coffee ride?
  17. I simply hate all those Zoom lectures and conferences that I have to attend nowadays. It is just so impersonal and boring listening to a bunch of talking heads on the computer! I could not help doodling a bit the other night and I sure ended up with something worthwhile! I did this from a picture I took while there a few weeks ago, so the temptation is always to take too much time and add too much detail, compared to a quick spontaneous free hand sketch, but I still like it!
  18. I was thinking more along the lines of finding corrugated iron sheets added to it the next morning with a growing community claiming the street has been their home for years and refusing to move, demonstrating, looting and burning a bus or two to get the TV cameras excited and a visit from a minister or three to confirm how legitimate their cause is while complaining that there is no grazing for their goats.???? Edit: come ons someone, take the cue on "goats", it's Friday!????It's just a short jump to Mangolia and whiskey.
  19. ???????? True that, let's see how we can get there...........
  20. A little further away, we had a problem with cars speeding in a narrow residential road. We signed a petition and a request for the city council to install speed bumps. It took 2 years but they did just that. It solved our problem instantly.
  21. Yes, I walk and train my young labbie there.
  22. Watch out for a grumpy looking old fart walking with a very energetic black labrador, it may or may not be me????
  23. I often find myself talking about "last year" we did this or we did that................only to then realise that I am talking about 2019. Weird to have time "redacted" in the head like that.
  24. You are the ONLY person on earth who can make the Bellville CBD look cool
