  1. Hi Z I recommend that you keep / do a double wrap on the top of the bars for Eroica. The road buzz is substantial and I have always found that a bit more padding makes it just a little more comfortable on the hands. Sorry I won't see you at Eroica this year. It is the first one that I'll miss, very sadly. Enjoy!
  2. After a few years I have not come across a bottle cage that doesn't distract from the C40 frame.
  3. A pansy from Mossel Bay. Suppose a mussel would have been more fitting, if not as beautiful. Sometimes the simple things, like this little artwork of nature, are the true masterpieces!

    Who remembers?

Good grief, I checked and see I've been on here since 2010. I don't remember that far back, should I be concerned? What was the question again? 2010? What about 2010? On where?
  5. My wife is also not a baker. Blames her over qualified Smeg oven So, one of my sons started baking things with his girlfriend and is now pretty handy at making muffins, chocolate chip cookies, brownies and vanilla and chocolate cakes.
  6. My wife bought an air fryer 6 months ago. I thought it was going to just be another gadget, but she uses it very regularly and for all kinds of things.
  7. There used to be a Snoek also.
  8. If the kareoke came after getting drunk then I can still understand......
  9. They are right there in the riffles, I can FEEL them. You better post pictures in the flyfishing thread! Or else!
  10. I'm SHOCKED that you went on a cruise Wayne!
  11. Ha ha,I know I know, I should add a special category for "when I buy from Morph"
  12. Up to R10 000 if I'm selling and it is in really good shape. Up to R5000 if I'm buying and it is in really good shape. That's as honest as my Scottish genes allow me to be

The old FJ above (I think from the early 1980s) is certainly harsh. No power steering, no brake booster, drum brakes, a gearlever that shifts on intuition, leaf springs like you would expect an 18 wheeler to have. It has more rattles and leaks oil just like a Land Rover It shakes and jumps and make moves on its own. I've never taken it above 85 km/h for fear of it exploding. But is will go absolutely anywhere (have proof) and carry a ton of rocks (have proof) without complaining. It also has character, which is rare these days.

I have one of these. I swore it would NEVER break and then out of the blue last year it broke a valve stem and stuffed the motor up badly. But now, for a not-so-reasonable amount of cash, it is running again and I swear it will NEVER again break down. Except of course for punctures - the terrain where it lives, is terrible on side walls, especially if you use it off road. We sommer permanently keep 2 spares on the back, a pump and some tyre-weld permanently behind the drivers seat.

...................Turning circle = Serengeti Plains...................but I love mine, even though I am now seriously considering buying something else. I looked at the new Defender and decided that it is way too larney a car for what I want to do with mine.
  16. Fixed it for you
  17. Personally, I'm glad the guy who keeps our planes flying scores a 9 and not a 6.
  18. My limo ride: Got off the train from Washington DC at Grand Centra in New York. We were waiting for a cab to catch a ride to our hotel. No cabs, all full or ignored us. Big fat limo parked at the curb a few feet away from us. Driver asked where we were from after he heard the wife and I speak in Afrikaans. South Africa my man! You know Nelson Mandela? I said no, but wouldn't mind meeting him! Hop in he said, I've never had a South African passenger. Hey, I don't have money for a limo ride. No, he said, I'll give you a ride for free! Add it to Mandelas tab! I'm bored and my boss won't need me for another hour or two! We were taken to our hotel in style! Even have a picture of us sticking our heads out the sunroof like tourists!
  19. I refuse to answer questions and use my right to silence so as to not incriminate myself.
  20. It's the goodies in her bookcase that is exciting people.
  21. Vasbyt Hayley I'll keep my fingers crossed for your husband and the whole family. I know the hospital situation is very stressful at the moment, but it truly is the only way hospitals can still function more or less normally. Without those precautions, the hospital staff are the first to contract Covid and then the service collapses. I know it doesn't make it any easier for you, but use technology to the maximum to keep contact. Edit: Somewhere in the back of my head I seem to recall that you are in the medical field. If that's the case, sorry, you know all this already.
  22. I heard it is not at all easy to get a sub 3 hour download unless you start in a fast bunch (Just kidding of course)
  23. Thanks Duane, I feel better already
  24. Duane, REALLY, this is NOT what I want to hear after a week and a Friday like this! I need to hear how k*k things are for EVERYONE else!
  25. PLEASE stay off the N2, M3 and M5 freeway sections where riding is illegal. It only causes trouble for the organizers who get push back from traffic authorities whe they want permission to run races. Your only real option is through Woodstock. Use M4 Main Road or M57 Liesbeek Park Way as far as Claremont, then M4 from there. Ride in a group and safety won't be an issue. Go early and traffic won't be an issue. Traffic lights will stop you now and then, so forget about doing a personal best this time. It is not the year for that. My 2c
