    Nino has tried his hand at road, 2014 riding for Orica Greenedge, his last road event result i could find was 24th in a local UCI 1.1 event over 172 km

    Yep my wife has the app and following the friends we know that are running. Days like this and I get the crazy idea to enter, then reality sets in 😁

    Where overseas? Horse flies are the biggest problem in summer where I ride my mtb, and then the blue fly swarms from piles of horse pooh on the trails. When I left SA it was already dicey with criminals robbing cyclists, 19 years later i think I would struggle to adapt to riding in SA

    Well this explains a few things, and here I thought Nino was getting old and slow (in context of racing at the pointy end of xco) I can just see Nino reading the local news over his kaffee und gipfeli this morning….😁

    Of course NQ will deny ever using it or knowledge of how it got into his system. The next joke is that tramadol falls under the uci’s medical regulations and not the anti doping regulations, so he can continue racing, but gets dq’d from the race (TDF) where tested positive. Sounds like something from a “Better call Saul” episode

    I often see cyclists taking their helmets off while riding uphill, they let them rest on the handle bars…. I guess accidents don’t happen while going uphill 🙈

    A few months ago I came upon an accident on a quite road where a guy had fallen off his road bike at the bottom of a very mild downhill, he was wearing a helmet ⛑ and it was not pretty, he was unconscious and non responsive the whole time while we waited for the paramedics. His helmet was cracked but still sitting properly on his head. i hate to know what would have happened had he not been wearing a helmet.

    I'm a bit sceptical, not so much of the drone technology but rather us humans Despite current tech we cannot control or stop motorists from killing themselves and other motorists on the roads everyday, can you imagine the chaos if these things ever become readily available to the general public? 8 propellers.... wonder what the life limit / TBO will be 😁

    I agree That being said, Glencore themselves have in the past and still do sponsor various sporting events in our area including an annual standard distance triathlon and time trail (running, walking, cycling) series.

    Knowing a few of the Glencore types ( There HQ is just down the road from us) I would be pleasantly surprised if he spent that amount out of his own pocket, perhaps he has other contacts from the business world who would also participate.
