  1. My 5 cents tip, having done the beginners thing with both disciplines……overall I found skiing easier than snowboarding. That being said I prefer boarding and my ski’s hardly get used. We opted to buy our own ski’s, boards and boots, in the long term it’s easier and cheaper.
  2. Typical euro, they don’t view the F word in the same light we do.
  3. It’s cooking in Paris today and Ashleigh was surfing at the back for most of the laps, nice to see the SA jersey
  4. Ha, this reminds me somewhat funny mistake i made during my first "annual check up" here in Switz, the Dr who I had never seen before also turned out to be a runner and he asked me what my marafun PB was.... without hesitating i told him it was 2:18 albeit quite a long time ago... Having just done a cardio stress test and being pretty fit at the time he said he can see I'm fit and was very impressed with this PB time.... Later that evening telling my SOH about the new Dr it suddenly dawned on me that i got it all wrong, my PB was 3:18 😆 Edit: BTW i have a 10k PB of 39 minutes achieved during the 2nd run of duathlon way back in the early 90's
  5. This little heatwave that is passing through EU must also have a big effect....and it looks like it will carry on all the way the Paris.
  6. Why a lone ranger...? He has the whole peloton riding for him most days? Seriously tho, Inter Marche still have a full complement of 8 riders so i'm not sure why you would call him the lone ranger
  7. Bah Humbug I really hope you are wrong for a variety of reasons, especially seeing that my wife and I are booked to go to see the spectacle of the finish on the Champs Elysees
  8. Ja wat... sadly thats a hazard of being so good. Not just Pog, when the Eurosport commentators mentioned something about the average speeds being one of the highest ever recorded it made me think the same thing. Fancy shaped frames, power meters and better training, deep section wheels, bigger tyres, better nutrition, aero clothing, longer socks...the list is endless I can hear the crowd screaming: "Technology is a wonderful thing..."
  9. When and what are these Bully tactics from NS? I'm not denying it or sticking up for NS, just never heard of this sort of complaint against him before As for this incident with Flucki, comments and assumptions are pointless until we know for sure what happened, I'd say that both of them were rather desperate for the win for different reasons and additionally because it would have been in front of their home crowd.... the stunned silence and oooh when AH and Bairdot emerged out of the forest
  10. Todays prize giving, screen shot from the geo locked link Nino: See you at the next race…….
  11. I think that section was not covered by cameras, unfortunately Nino basically says that Flucki took him out, and that this type of thing should not happen at a Swiss WC race between 2 Swiss racers…..whilst Flucki saying sorry but that’s racing. Have a look at the clip below ((sorry it’s in Swiss deutsch) during the podium prize giving, Swiss body language…..they clearly don’t agree. its going to boost the tv ratings for the next few XCO WC mens races https://www.srf.ch/sport/mehr-sport/rad/cross-country-in-lenzerheide-abschuss-im-zauberwald-schurters-grosser-aerger-ueber-flueckiger
  12. Patience, wax on wax off.... its a long way to Paris
  13. Is there video footage of this, it should be sent to some professional football (soccer) players, fans and clubs....
  14. I'm wondering... how do these guys who preach not throw insults when / if their rev counter goes into the red? Ok the Kaapies i can understand with their mountain zen n all, but the rest of the folks cant be that chilled Its like pulling punches in fight....
  15. "I'm an old, wise man and the winner is always right, so for the moment I am right," Lefevere told Cyclingnews in Nyborg.
  16. Electronics...... Its life Jim, but not as we know it
  17. Bike took me on my first ride in 20 years (at least) without black socks
  18. Some genetically talented runners can get away with running in plakkies, while those not so genetically talented runners need some form of biomechanical assistance, this is multiplied by the distance run. That being said I have orthotics plus ASICS gel kayano’s (kayano are probably ASICS most expensive support shoe) and very rarely run more than 8km in one run nowadays, and I still get all sorts of knee and feet aches n pains…. Where can I buy some of these cheap Mr Price wonder shoes 😁
  19. Yes i like to hear "only one click"
  20. I know its a long shot but try send River rat a PM , if i recall correctly he has a Boerboel* or 2, he may know of someone who can help *EDIT: Think RR has Rhodesian Ridgebacks, not Boerboels Here's a link to his hub profile, dont think he is very active here anymore but hopefully he gets a notifcation when you send him a message River Rat - Bike Hub
  21. Cheap and Quality..... every time i see this topic i hear someone saying if you want cheap don't expect quality Anyway, I wonder where Hoka shoes feature on the list of shoes? "The most popular shoe chosen by runners in 2019 is Asics (9056), followed by Nike (4953), New Balance (3020) and adidas (2866)"
  22. I do believe Cav is listed as a reserve for Quickstep, so there’s still a glimmer of hope 🤩
  23. I concur to some degree (not specifically to this particular case), many years ago when i weighed 10kg less.....during that big 7 day event in your part of the world, my timing chip did not work during the prolog and we were penalized because the timing system said we broke the "stay within 1 minute of your team mate" rule and as a penalty we had to start in the last batch on Day 1 Yo it was interesting to see how easily people get off and push, and I'm referring to riding uphill jeep track that is by no means steep or technical.
