  1. Forrk, how did you even get into those???
  2. For those in PTA or Centurion, there are 2 of us (so far) doing 6 to 7 hour ride on Friday, +- 30kph. Doing Hekpoort via Harties. Leaving Centurion early at 04h30.
  3. Are the prices still good after paying import duties on clothing??
  4. Back in the day (90's) when I was a runner our coach made us do plyometric exercises before each track session. IMHO - think they are very good for strength, co-ordination and injury prevention.
  5. Eeerm, sorry to be pedantic but a horse is not a ruminant, it has no rumen, actually has a 'simple' stomach with huge mother of a colon I do however think the type of animal is besides the point - plastic/wrappers/bottles can potentially do harm to any animal.
  6. Getting these for my road bike this week - Fulcrum Racing Zero's http://s.wiggle.co.uk/images/fulcrum-dark-label-med.jpg?w=350&h=350&a=7
  7. taken from Klapperkop? nice view from there, also early in the a.m.
  8. Yikes, big cahonies!! those okes. Not even a helmet for protection, especially for the backflips.
  9. I did see somewhere that you can try attaching the magnet to your brake rotor and then the sensor below the boot on the the Lefty, have not tried it yet myself.
  10. RIP Merv, and condolences to his family. Very sad!!
  11. Doping discussions/speculation always seem to centre around the road pro's, obviously with good reason. Was just wondering if it is the same story amongst the MTB pro's??? Or is MTB a 'clean' sport???
  12. Good add for those Dura-Ace wheels. Just wish I had a tenth of their skills. Makes me feel a bit better to see that at least they do fall sometimes.
  13. Ordered a few odds and ends from CWC on Friday, including a 450ml bottle of Stan's. Got my package this morning - free delivery - with a note saying they are out of stock of the 450ml but sent a 950ml instead for NADA ! Great service guys - thanks, you are really great local competition for CRC.
  14. So where do you get the seeds?
  15. Wednesday morning, J-bay area towards Hankey. Alas I am back home in Gauteng now.
  16. Or get some plugs as used on car tyres - don't have to take the tyre off to repair the puncture. OK, Caerus beat me to it WITH a pic.
  17. My car with all its technology cost well over R300K, but my Cannondale with its overengineered Lefty (sweet) gives me 1000X the pleasure and keeps me healthy - priceless I say!
  18. +1 I'm in J-Bay from 9-15 Dec. MTB definitely coming with.
  19. Just don't try going on a Friday at lunch time as I have done before - closed!
  20. Go down Botha Ave to Fountains and keep right, go up Nelson Mandela Drive heading south and then left onto Klapperkop.
  21. Although Centurion is quite hilly, most are fairly short hills, for longer climbing training most go out to Klapperkop - good climb starting from fountains to the top of Klapperkop. Has become a bit of a pain with all the speed humps but otherwise a great road for cycling - nice and quiet and even some game to watch (zebras). If you're willing to go slightly further - try Wonderboom from the north side (quite steep), Hans Strijdom, Tom Jenkins (behind Union buildings, very steep), and my latest favourite early on a sunday morning is Hornsnek (PTA west)- fairly steep and about 2.5km long.
  22. Hope he does'nt use that huge spanner on my bike!
  23. Beefy disc with such flimsy looking cranks!??
  24. I like that comment as I ride a Zaskar Also, Nino Schurter seemed to handle those rock gardens extremely well on his 26er, or is it just the rider??
