  1. So the CEO has given us the green light to move out of Auckland. Her only requirements are: 1. Must be near an airport 2. Must have internet connection 3. Must have cellphone reception. Other than that, she doesn't care where we go. We get to keep our Auckland salary. So, if you could live anywhere in NZ whilst observing those rules, where would you live? We are outdoorsy and love travelling and road trips so places with stuff to do within a 3-4 hour drive is a good selling point. We plan to rent for a year and then buy. So a place with up and coming property market. We are also looking for decile 9 or 10 intermediate and High School. So far, top of our list is CHC and Nelson with CHC leading slightly. So let me know your opinion and why. Thanks peeps.
  2. Something like this? https://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/BABGPN8LF/title/blackburn-local-pannier You might need a seperate laptop sleeve for some extra protection?
  3. lol. Yes. That. Edit: just realised my original comment comes across a bit knobbish. Actually meant it as a joke. Sorry about that.
  4. Thats a great point. Thanks. Ill keep looking. Key for me is having a single wheel.
  5. no man. You put your stuff in a big dry bag that comes with the trailer. I attached an image without the bag so you could see the structure. Lol- you are such an engineer.
  6. Thanks, thats very very kind. I have my eye set on this one
  7. Yeah, I was looking yesterday at a little trailer for stuff. Also gearing up for a few overnighters.
  8. To all the kiwi peeps. On TVNZ on demand is a series called “people on bikes” that profiles great kiwi rides around the country. It’s worth a watch!
  9. stupid comment. Use coconut oil instead. Tofu will just gunk it up.
  10. Do it. Do it for fun - dont race it just complete it and have a laugh. Or do the 50km now and the 100 next year.
  11. This might help from a Rocky mountain point of view For more information on Rocky Mountain Bikes South Africa, email info@hullabaloo.co.za or call 012 660 0016
  12. Ummm..... [emoji2357] This is exactly what I have done.
  13. Joh! But this thing makes strong coffee. I’m going to have to play around to get it right!
  14. Ok so I picked up the nanopress. Initial thoughts are promising. It makes a half decent single espresso. Given that I can’t use my breville grinder in the field, I have bought a Rhino compact grinder. There is a sweet deal here that comes with an aeropress bundled in. So that’s nice. Will provide a full report when everything is here and my hands stop shaking from all the coffee. I might also get the bialetti. Hee hee hee.
  15. Does anyone have any experience with a Wacaco minipresso machine ? I am looking for something to take with on back country hikes to make a good coffee in the mornings. I plan to use ground coffee not Nespresso pods. Before you all shout Aeropress, I’ve been there and not a fan.
  16. Yep, its really quite good. I enjoyed the Mt Albert BBQ thing
  17. so....who are y'all voting for?
  18. I use the breville oracle. Automatic tamping as well so it gives an extremely consistent coffee. It’s been a game changer in my house. It means my kids can’t screw up my coffee. #littleslaves
  19. This is one of the huge benefits of my job. Contract says 40 hours a week needed. Boss doesnt care how. Great when you have a holiday planned, you pull 4 ten hour days of meaningful work and get a friday off (the proviso being you are still contactable in case) If I play my cards right, and I do the 4 days from home, its very easy to do the 10 hour days as I dont lose 2 hours in AKL traffic. I am grateful for that concession in my contract.
  20. Had the exact same experience.
  21. upload your stuff to a cloud drive and I’ll print it all out for you when you get here.
