  1. ill be on leave around that time. Let me know and we can hit Woodhill. I’m sure a few others on here will join in???
  2. Are you ok? Nothing in your post references my post. Based on your nonsensical response and your signature on your profile, I am genuinely starting to think you are trolling purely for the sake of it. Its a shame, I enjoy debate and information sharing. Its a total shame that you are not participating in a well mannered and genuine debate that will hopefully lead to a better understanding for us all. If I have misunderstood you and my opinion is incorrect, then please educate me as to why you are not trolling and contribute to the discussion in a meaningful way.
  3. Your post made me think of this.
  4. I had a friend put on a picture of an Albert Einstein quote about “if a man aspires to a righteous life, his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals”. Not sure if it’s an actual quote. The part of the story that was bewildering was her very next post was of homemade bacon wrapped jalapeños on the braai. Sort of ironic.
  5. It doesnt really work that way. Your post is an "all or nothing" approach. It is unreasonable to assume that in one instant every person on the planet will stop eating meat. It will be a gradual process that takes place over time. The laws of supply and demand indicate that less and less animals will be born to supply the lessening demand. Gradually, the farmers will transform their land from animal agriculture to plants. Those growing plants for animal feed will switch to human food. Again, the laws of supply and demand will take over. The issue is changing the demand. As more people take up a plant based diet, or even a meat reduced diet (they are not the same thing) the market will adapt.
  6. Just watched The Game Changers. Highly recommend.
  7. Hi Hayley. According to this, the new rules are not retrospective and there is a little more detail around the new system. https://migrationpartners.co.nz/workvisachanges-17september2019/ Although, its a changing landscape and things are moving quickly, so even this articel might be subject to change. Im just glad we are a year away from citizenship - one less thing to worry about. But I agree, that "newer" folks would be pretty nervous.
  8. I am quite proud of being plant based. But I do not condone this sort of behaviour. It paints everyone with a tainted brush and is not conducive to healthy debate and winning people over. You catch more flies with syrup than vinegar (had to change the saying from honey cos thats not vegan) https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12268442
  9. thats wascist. [emoji23]
  10. bro. You are the coolest. And it’s not a latte. It’s a soy flat white. [emoji23]
  11. by lying about his age.
  12. I know this is not F1 related, but your profound comment made me think of this. EDIT: Attaching stuff is hard
  13. i use Airpoints dollars a lot. I travel a fair bit so tend to accumulate them quickly. Paired with an interest free Airpoints credit card it’s quite useful. Provided you are mindful of which stores add a cc surcharge.
  14. My 9 year old follows him. I have no issue with it at all. I also like the fact that he shares his beliefs. Doesn’t mean we have to share those beliefs, but sticking our heads in the sand and not wanting to see something isn’t the answer either. My opinion and I respect the diversity of other people’s opinion. I also admit to being totally biased. We have been plant based for over two years now so I am probably not the best person to try be objective. He also shares a lot of religious posts. I’m atheist and those don’t offend me at all.
  15. A mate of mine rents his Tesla on there. He reckons 33% of the premium goes to insurance. The company deducts it and fully coveres the replacement value of the vehicle.
  16. Another option is https://www.mycaryourrental.com/ Private vehicle owners that rent out their vehicles
  17. apex car rental are pretty cheap and have decent vehicles. Not as new as Avis and so, and they are generally based near the airport but you need a shuttle (which they offer for free) to get there. About half the price of the flash ones at the airport.
  18. So I picked up the second hand giant from Canfan on Saturday - I swear that bike is either brand new or that man takes AMAZING care of bikes. Thanks for the help everyone - especially Canfan. The young MR really enjoys the bike. Might take him to Woodhill this weekend if the weather plays ball.
  19. I know.
  20. Yep. We made this mistake. i bought him a titan 26 from a friend, but he is too small for it and he lacked a lot of confidence this weekend in Rotorua. I know he needs a 24 and most of the ones out there are pretty bleak. This thread has given me some food for thought though.
  21. I found this https://www.bikebarn.co.nz/bikes/kids-bikes/youth-26/2019-kona-honzo-24-black-with-orange-blue-decals-sku-b19hz24 But my first choice is Canfan's Giant if the lighty is happy with that. The kona is my backup plan.
  22. Nope. Its pretty expensive to be honest. Gonna think about this one.
  23. Anyone have any tips for semi decent 24 inch bikes? The stuff in the stores is garbage.
  24. I am quite keen on the titanium solar one. It’s $1,800 here.
