  1. Yes. Premium versions in the next 3-4 months. Base models before the end of the year. Orders are opening is Australia in a couple of weeks. Thats what the 15 year old salesman told me.
  2. delivery to take place within next 6 months. I am reasonably back in the queue due to late registration. But I am ok with that. The deposit is totally refundable if you change your mind. So we have placed the deposit but not yet ordered. We are still waiting for pricing to be confirmed so if it is too expensive I will back out. Also, I am taking the rear wheel drive with slightly extended battery so that’s the last variant to be delivered. We have heaps of Evs here already. Here is a screenshot of all of the points in the north and South Island.
  3. no thanks. We have been driving an electric car for almost two years. It makes a lot of sense in Nz as the charging infrastructure is huge and expansive
  4. Not Cycling related and certainly not yet purchased. But we placed our deposit today and secured our spot in the queue. Tesla Model 3. Here we are at the Auckland dealership playing around with the demo. This is a left hand drive from the states. Obviously our one will have the steering wheel on the correct side.
  5. Short answer. No. Long answer... it would be disrespectful of a Pakeha (non Māori) to have it done the traditional way and also disrespectful to call it Ta Moko. The respectful term to use is Kirituhi which means “skin art” and is a celebration of an art form. My artist is Māori and the process is the same in that you have a consultation around what is important to you and then that is translated into meaningful drawings that are freehanded onto you. I really enjoyed the process of this tattoo.
  6. My most recent piece. Done on the front of the left leg.
  7. Today marks 3 years of residency for us. 2 years temporary and 1 year permanent. In 18 months, we wll be able to apply for citizenship (assuming no international travel in the last 6 months) Im pretty stoked about that.
  8. Agreed. I work in Newmarket and stay out East. On a good day, its 45 minutes. On a bad dy its over an hour. Luckily I can work from home fairly often - those are the good days.
  9. Hey Patches (and any other South Island fans) We are planning a quick highlights trip to Canterbury for the family end of May. We will be doing a bit of a road trip. Christchurch>Kaikoura>Hanmer Springs> Greymouth >Christchurch Via Arthurs Pass I dont have much annual leave so i am doing this over 5 days. Its going to be busy. I am looking for any suggestions of cool things to do/see along the way. Any suggestions?
  10. This thread is turning out to be a lot of rubbish
  11. I am guessing this https://www.priceme.co.nz/TCL-55P6US-55in/p-901625857.aspx
  12. Its not being bought for its looks. Did you read the part about not needing a license?
  13. thats not very nice.
  14. I am thinking of getting this for the wife as a commuter. In NZ you dont need a bike license to drive this, a car license will do. All other scoots require a bike license.
  15. I highly recommend the book. It highlights his personal life and offers a new perspective on the man
  16. I have been doing quite a bit of research into lower pace heart rate runs. It all started with reading a book from plant based ultra athlete Rich Roll. A book I wholly recommend. The theory (and this is a really simple summary) is that you never deviate from zone 2. This allows the body to almost never use its anaerobic system and thus means you can basically perform for ages. Sure it’s at the cost of pace. But as you build your base the pace starts to improve all whilst your cardiovascular systems remains in zone 2. Basically you get faster and faster without ever using your anaerobic system. Recoveries are quick and you never have an excess amount of lactate. It’s quite frustrating in the beginning as you feel like you are a geriatric. But it pays off in the long run.
  17. broken thumb. Have a cast up to the forearm. It’s a stupid silly thing but the cast affects the running. The hand swells and the thumb throbs when out for a run and it is super annoying. Plus, it’s starting to smell a bit funky.
  18. hopefully my cast comes off tomorrow morning and i can get back on the road
  19. Agreed wholeheartedly. And yes...I voted for someone else.
  20. Thanks for this. I have been struggling for some time with Facebook feeling like the centre of everything. I just went and did a facebook cleanup of groups and "Friends" The only reason that I did not deactivte completely was to record and store photos of the kiddos. I quite enjoy the memories feature that reminds us of some of our adventures. This adds positive value to my life and I will retain it. The rest is bull****. Went from 800 people down to like 100. Cant even remember some of the people on there! Relax Ross, I kept you.
  21. I bought an aftermarket seat for the 310GS. My hobbit sized body is thanking me. Its much more comfortable now and I can get more foot access. That bike is surprisingly tall. Taller than a 1200GS
  22. remember the Stephen Joyce incident?
  23. I see the vile piece of excrement is choosing to represent himself in court. On a slightly seperate note, how amazing is Egg Boy...what a champ.
