  1. We have been here before haven't we? So after about 20 pages of posts we will end up with half justifying why they run red lights and the rest of us saying it's wrong...
  2. I know what you are talking about, I'm 6'4". So thats a 58 to 60cm frame (horizontal top tube) for me, wish I was Magnus! Kiwi2008-01-22 06:37:24
  3. Definitely go Carbon, stays stiff and last a long time. This is especially true for the large shoe sizes which start getting soft pretty early on in nylon. I think the main thing about carbon is that it retains its initial properties. There are different set-ups too, some carbon shoes are designed with a little flex for comfort (like Sidi) and they stay that way.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  4. How about some bigger sizes? XL (58cm) equivelent to about 61 horizontal XXL (61cm) equivelent to about 64 horizontal Maybe we need a second poll, it looks like each poll can only have 4 options?
  5. What road frame size do you ride?
  6. Glad you got you bike back, wouldn't be suprised if the guy you got it back from knew (or was) the guys who took it in the first place...
  7. http://www.cervelo.com/news.aspx?m=Athletes&i=CSCNews 08-Jan-2008: Today when Team CSC meets for the first time in 2008 at the training camp in Majorca, the riders will be presented to a strong, new visual identity in the shape of brand new clothes design. The Team CSC 2008 uniform has been redesigned and this also marks the beginning of a new collaboration with Swedish sports clothes manufacturer CRAFT. The clothes is designed by Inger Tanderup Klixbull, who is creative director at the add agency Ogilvy in Chicago. She has based the new visual identity on the team's thoughts on "team spirit" and also on the team's focus on a clean and trustworthy sport. "The Team CSC 2008 uniform is a tribute to the team itself. A uniform, which represents each rider and at the same time also representing them all as one unit. The idea comes across in the new "signature pattern." A pattern created from each individual rider's signature in a graduation from black to white. Where black is a pattern created from all the signatures and white is an open light pattern, which enables you to see the individual signatures. In this way each rider "signs himself on" to the team and at the same time signs his commitment to Team CSC's beliefs and values," says Inger Tanderup Klixbull, who has also designed the team's previous uniforms. "It happens only a few times in a designer's life that you get so inspired by a job that the design literally comes pouring out and everything feels right. But this is exactly what happened to me with the design for Team CSC in 2008. Here was a team, which wasn't just a group of individualists, but a team fighting for a set of values as a unified group. Coming together in the fight against doping and claiming the title of the best cycling team in the world. It has been a very inspiring process for me," adds the designer. "We're very proud of the new design. It represents our beliefs as a team and at the same time it gives us a clean and stylish look, which is noticeable in the peloton. The idea to use the rider's signatures in our visual identity symbolizes that we are all committing ourselves to stand together and fight for the future of our sport in the right way," announces Bjarne Riis.
  8. Tell you what's interesting about this, if you go to Campagnolo's site and down load any of their manuals, all of them carry a disclaimer which say something along the lines of: "If you weigh 82kg/180lbs or more you must be especially vigilant and have your bicycle inspected more frequently (than someone weighing less than 82kg/180lbs) for any evidence of cracks, deformation or other signs of fatigue or stress." This is the same whether its for ergo leavers or wheels. Shimano don't suggest any weight limit for their wheels if you go through their tech documents for the WH 550 wheels (SI-0058A-001 EV-WH-R550-F-2336A EV-WH-R550-R-2337A SI-4BE0D) I use the WH 500 wheels for training and have finally broken a front spoke (radial, standard J-Bend spokes rather than the straight-pull ones in WH550s). I weigh 85kgs to 87kgs. If those WH550s have never been trued (so not incorrectly tensioned) I would most definitely get Shimano to look at them because for the spoke to pull through the rim that would suggest overly high spoke tension.
  9. Some parts are worth it. The rear mech seems to work just little bit better than the Ultegra version for example - could be better jockey wheels. Dura Ace STIs feel just that much better as well. The pedals and front mech don't seem worth it compared to Ultergra. The brake calipers are a bit nicer but I bet if you put Dura Ace pads on the Ultegra one's it wouldn't be any different. The Dura Ace cranks I would recommend, they are lighter but the most important difference is they are forged and as a result are stiffer and stay that way. If its just for racing I'd go Dura Ace but if you need to do your training on it as well Ultegra or Ultegra SL will wear cheaper or better, depending how you look at it! The differences are smaller and smaller the higher up the "food chain" you go, but if you can afford the whole set up do it! Like they say: "How fast do you want to spend?" Think about SRAM Rival too, lighter than Ultegra but should wear better than Dura Ace. Force is even better, maybe not the cranks though. Red is super yummy!Kiwi2007-12-20 03:08:48
  10. Wish I had a rack like that!
  11. With that little red stripe on the down tube those bikes are gonna go real fast! Why don't they just say to hell with it and go pink like this? Kiwi2007-12-19 23:57:44
  12. No, no sponsorship. Paid way too much after searching all over the world as they don't make them anymore. Put them on under my aero helmet and thought I was having and ebolisim. Put them on under my road helmet and just looked stupid.
  13. yes, same principle, buying a hemorrhoid gel called "Ring Sting".... It's supposed to heal and protect, not leave you feeling like you've been in the throws of coitus with a pansy Samoan who happens to have a Pineapple for a love wand! Not a love wand a "prickly pear" prickly pear, Pineapple, it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other! End of the day I'll still have very very very bad Ring Sting! Pansy Samoan - I think you mean Fa?afafine, usually around 6 foot tall 100 - 120kg. Quite a sight!!! Kiwi2007-12-18 06:47:43
  14. The picture doesn't do them any justice, the lens are gold and the frames flouro yellow. So bright you need sunglasses... OK, no matter My wife thinks I have no style - I still have my Oakley Over The Top glasses! Kiwi2007-12-18 06:43:02

  17. I think I saw Mr Pantani on Sunday sloping off for a secret training session so it could all be true! I was going to say Hi but I was on a Raleigh RC1000 and I though "Security" might have politley shown me the door if I got to close... Pantani, that bike of your is very nice 'n all but your glasses no longer make the grade. I suggest David Millar limited edition Oakley Retina Burn Radar glasses to balance out the bling shoes etc. http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2007/tech/shows/interbike07/index.php?id=/photos/2007/tech/shows/interbike07/interbike0713/MZ-IB07_oakley I could lend you my Rudy Projects - the Super Glue is holding up real well. 21. Got this from the Super Seeding Crew: Thanks for your e-mail.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Amashova results from this year are not on SuperSeeding yet. It normally takes a period of 6 weeks after an event has taken place for results to be loaded. We have to wait till all results are finalized by the timing company before we cn add them. Results will be added 1 month after completion of the race. (Providing the data is correct). Regards Carri-Ann Botha Race Office Coordinator Cycle Events Online on time! Hmmm...
  22. 1. Why aren't the Amashova results in the Seeding Index on Supercycling yet? Is it me or are Winning Time events always very slow at being added. Can someone explain how it's supposed to work, I thought it was all done electronically. I might be being extra dumb here as I'm new to SA cycling. 2. Can anyone recommend me a good bicycle painter in Joburg? 3. Also a very good bike fitter or very good Physio that's a cyclist too? 4. Why are the new Raleighs so much more expensive than last year?
  23. Do a search through here first, you'll be suprised what the top fitters in the world say about those "Do it by CD" systems. There are heaps of good tips here: http://www.cyclingnews.com/fitness/
  24. One thing I learned living in England was never by a Peugeot or Citroen brand new, they are cheaper than other brands in the UK but the parts are expensive and everything breaks from window wiper motors to the CPU. Do a search for car reviews on google.co.uk to see what I mean. What I was told to do was alway buy one about a year old as they are still covered by the guarantee and the original owner will have had been through all they warranty hustle for you!
  25. Oh yeah baby! May I suggest these bars... PS What Emoticon are you supposed to use for extreme jealousy?
