Enjoyed the race, arrived a bit LTE so started right at the back of the bridge. This have a couple of good opportunities to watch the snake of bikes up ahead :-) No complaints about the organizers, the cops and TB crews had everything under control. No water when we went last WP1 or I just missed it completely! The beers in Vilakazi for WP2 was fantastic though. The longer route caught a few people who were maybe up for a 35, but 35 only took them to the beer-stop, the 17kays back had quite a few people cramping, pushing etc. Was amazed though by all the mechanicals, seems Nissan trails are more tyre friendly than Jhb tar :-) I REALLY hope this is on again next year !!

I was on my (motor-)bike this morning and went from Solomon Mahlangu via Garsfontein to Que Sera and came back via Lynwood road. There were many MTB on and net to he road, one large group, few single but mostly 2-3 bikes together. Has the safety improved or is it still risky areas to ride in, especially the Garsfontein stretch?

I have a cheapie swatch and my only " proper" watch is a TAG. You guys are posting some beauties here so was wondering where you get all of them? Are some family heirlooms passed down, or do you spoil yourself whenever you get a bonus or maybe the family knows you love watches and club together to buy on a special birthday? Collected mine from the cycle shop in Centurion where we usually collected the race numbers (epic cycles?). But I think that when you ordered you had to choose where you wanted to collect from ...
