  1. @Jbr when you say ~30% paraffin oil, do you mean you take 70g of the wax pastilles (as below), and 30g of paraffin, and melt that together to make 100g of wax?
  2. Is a “shared” purchase between myself and my wife 😂 For her, jewellery, for me chains and other bits and bobs. based on this article it’s definitely not necessary (but, then again, neither is the whole waxing process 🙈) https://zerofrictioncycling.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Ultrasonic-Clean-Race-Chains-Quick-guide-v3-converted.pdf
  3. Chain from the trainer bike will be going in straight away, it's in dire need of a clean

  7. My LBS quotes R250 per brake, so I'd assume a 3 year payback (inflation notwithstanding) even if I only have 1 SRAM bike and only bleed once a year.
  8. When did you have it done? I've seen reports on here that their business model has changed recently to only selling the kits.
  9. Seems like it: https://evobikes.co.za/product/sram-rival-etap-axs-shift-brake-system-fm-2x12-speed-disc-brake/
  10. Still Dot fluid
  11. Recently got Rival AXS shifters/brakes on my bike, and looking to add the required brake bleed tooling to my arsenal. Any recommendations on a good bleed kit available locally? Currently leaning towards something like this: https://evobikes.co.za/product/jagwire-wst052-elite-dot-bleed-kit/ Seems like a lot, but when you factor in ~R150 per brake at the LBS it starts to pay for itself quite quickly. Thoughts?
  12. I’d be surprised and concerned if you can’t ride it in a downpour

  14. After gravel season, definitely (along with some road wheels... maybe...) Loving this bike 😁
  15. You get a new number each lap, so a different book page needed. same route, different directions (the variation has changed over the years ). there’s a great video on YouTube called “where dreams go to die”, highly recommended.
  16. Upgraded the drivetrain on the diverge to an AXS mullet setup, ready to climb up some walls now 😎
  17. The block shows the “middle” 2 quantiles (ie where half the group finished) the middle line shows the median finish time in the group the dots are outliers (mostly >1.5x the 1st or 3rd quartile range, but differs in some software) https://www.statology.org/how-to-read-box-plot-with-outliers/
  18. Jeepers, that spread in 4G. Anywhere from 3h to 7h
  19. @Kom it was twitchy in 1D as well. No crashes that I saw, but never felt far from one…
  20. Cool video with one of our own @J Wakefield Also nice to see I'm not the only one with k*k hamstrings 🙈
  21. Maybe if you got split peas then you got pins… 🤔🤔
  22. Ahahaha, ok, so nothing is consistent then 🙈 Neither me nor my sister got pins. Anyway…. the moral is, check before Sunday morning
  23. Probably also worth realising today, and not Sunday morning: there are no safety pins in the envelopes.
  24. Even sexier when it's dirty
