  1. What home compressor do you have? As mentioned, I do want more than a shock pump, since I also want to dry things with it.
  2. Looking at getting an air compressor for tubeless tyre inflating/post-wash bike drying/kids blow-up pool stuff inflation. Would something like this work, or is it too small? https://www.takealot.com/ryobi-compressor-compact-unit-1-5hp/PLID52753419
  3. Let's also be very clear that a simple "56cm" measurement has almost no meaning anymore across various bike brands. You're really struggling to compare like with like when using only that metric. A good resource for comparing across multiple metrics: https://geometrygeeks.bike/
  4. IANABF (I am not a bike fitter), but my experience has been size down, then add a longer stem. That way the bike is less twitchy, plus you've got more room to play with. Go too big and you're left with a 6mm stem, and not much to go from there. I speak from experience, also ~182cm, currently have a 56cm, and my next bike will likely be a 54.
  5. For what it's worth, that was my experience in C group as well. I think the wind made it hard for the weekend warriors to hold wheels properly, so ended up with lots of splits and solo riding.
  6. This was false. First 30k by far the worst. If I hadn't burned so many matches there I might not have been dropped as we turned into Adderley, which thankfully was not as bad as expected. This was true, backwards bridging was the order of the day 🙈
  7. Headwind on the run in, mostly ok apart from that
  8. Looks good. thanks!
  9. It seems the a few filters have switched from an "or" to an "and" operation. ie: If you select more than one size, you get no results. eg: Zero results Results Other broken filters: Brake Type Frame material Model year Not broken: Location still works
  10. Something like this? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5358139
  11. The resolutes are really nice. Good grip if you do venture into the mud, and decently thinner than the stock 47mm the Rook comes with.
  12. Interesting and candid article on EF's flirtations with relegation https://www.velonews.com/news/road/jonathan-vaughters-commentary-how-we-ended-up-in-the-relegation-fight/
  13. Here you go Durbie Dash 90k.gpx
  14. Ah yes, the science of sport one is good, also in my rotation. https://play.acast.com/s/realscienceofsport/
  15. For some local cycling flavour: https://www.thegraveljunction.com/ https://www.crosschaining.cc/
  16. <nevermind, video already posted>
  17. I've got the non-chaintool version, but I assume the mount is the same, and mine works fine. Not sure what you mean by "doesn't actually clip in", but mine seems pretty solid, so might be a faulty unit? Did 150km, mostly on gravel, on Sunday, tool stayed put, no issues.
  18. From a similar thread I gathered a bunch of routes, maybe not quite as far north as you're looking for, but might be some overlap: https://ridewithgps.com/collections/48725?privacy_code=oYJanzrK2rfGhxCz
  19. Yeah, the weather certainly delivered. I reckon certain portions of that route (thinking 110-120km) would have been... unpleasant... in more damp conditions. Even in the dry they were a challenge on 42mm tyres. And that's before we start talking about that descent off the bottom of Bainskloof 🙈. All in all, it was a nice mix of gravel and tar, Bainskloof was beautiful, and the aid stations were really good (though some extra salt shakers at the latter ones would have been appreciated to dose the potatoes). I'd recommend putting this one on the calendar for next year.
  20. I really should stop refreshing the weather forecast for Sunday, but this is about the most favourable it's been 🙈
  21. As far as I know, yes it is.
  22. So is anyone else entered for Gravel Monster next weekend? Forecast is changing everyday, but I suppose at least there's more tar than ATP so might not need a new BB after this one 🙈
  23. I'm relatively certain Inov-8 is a UK brand? Happy to be proved wrong though.
  24. Any LBS that has an account with Omnico can order from them (they have stock). Assume you'll end up paying similar to what Olympic are advertising (R440)
  25. Dutch Cat 4 climbs 😂 By way of comparison, there's a segment in Cape Town over the N2 into Pinelands with double the elevation gain
