There is no doubt that the Elite bunch should be DQ'd. But justice should be done to those Elites who did not join in the guttering on the wrong side of the road. Velouria, in the race report thread, says that he was dropped from the bunch because he was not prepared to ride on the wrong side of the road. He, and whoever else can show that they did not join the lawbreaking, should be able to appeal their innocence and have their results reinstated.

In this instance, it is the point. It is as wrong to beat somebody up as it is to falsely accuse somebody of doing it. On the balance of evidence, the cyclists are being falsely accused in this instance and BigH is committing the second wrong (which will never make a right).

Why do you continue to believe that the cyclists were at fault, and not eweps much more plausible account? Pierre Grobbelaar hit 3 cyclists with his rear view mirror, and when the cyclists wanted to talk to him he let fly with his fists! They then reacted in the same way you did by your own account. Are you perhaps a friend of Pierre Grobbelaar?

If we don't sort this out, we are looking at cycling events being barred from all roads. With regard to the Gordon's Bay to Rooiels Road, the report which was about the triathlon not being allowed on it, stated that the speed limit on the road had been raised a short time ago. This is the real problem. The road would be safe for motorists and cyclists if the speed limit was that for which the road was designed.

Groot Lem, we applaud your efforts to try to get this tour organised perfectly, and appreciate that you are disappointed that you cannot guarantee prize monies, officials and so on. But the tour is on, and it is in everybodies interest that it be as succesful as possible. It would be nice to see you there, giving whatever help you can.
