  1. If you thought to have a look at the thread PROPERLY the post was made well before your name came into the equation. I am well aware of where you from and am also well aware that you would not get involved with that kind of thing! You do have a decent reputation.... Read the thread start to finish and perhaps you would understand it was not a dig at you at all!!!!!!!!
  2. Up!!! All there is to it, Seriously though the first 8 kms is relatively flat and then up! Just hope for less mud than last year!!!! Will see you there!
  3. Go "Bring It On"
  4. Sh!t never heard of that. Theose are the very guys that make riding daangerous. Not only do they deprive a deserving rider an earlier time slot, They also obviously cant hold the group they are riding in and end up causing carnage to the faster guys coming through! They should have thier licences suspended!
  5. Agree!!!! I e-mailed the help-line and was told they were up so I checked and still nothing so I e-mailed them again. No reply!! Can't believe it takes SOOOOOO long. rediculous!
  6. Was a bit peeved to see no recognition to the riders who did the 30km MTB ride on saturday!!! My better half would have been in the prizes for the first time but....there was no prize giving. Surely the new riders also need some encouragement to stay in the sport. PS.. before anyone corrects me the distance was 30kms not the 25 advertised!
  7. My soft tail, could become a hard tail... quickly. By the way check out the "Cleats" she is riding in!!!!
  8. My Advice.... Dont do it. I would hate it swear and curse the whole way. Then I would swear and curse when I have to change cables, BB, chain Casette etc etc. Is it worth it??? My humble opinion ...NO!!!! Those of you that did Illovo Eston 2009 will attest to that! And That was one day.
  9. For me I prefer Shimano to Sram I just find the triggers to close together on sram. I think there is very little difference with frames as most(not all) come form the same factories anyway. With 6K you should be looking at Deore minimum if you go the shimano route and fox, manitou, dt swiss or rockshock forks. Once you found that take the frame the you like the best. Call Tania at Cycle lab Hillcrest. She is SO helpful and was a multiple S.A. champ to boot so she knows her stuff.
  10. Thats SO odd, suppose they made a better offer but with Reinart JV they have a potential top sprinter. Surely with Malcom Lange becoming less involved He woul have been assured top sport in the lead out train!
  11. Probably old news but wondered who Arran Brown is riding for next year, Hear he is leaving Med-Scheme.
  12. Silverback monza. Good value Carbon
  13. The readers tips are also seriously recycled!! Have you noticed how much thinner the newer issues are?? Find an old one from about 2006/7 and compare!!!!
  14. Usually there is less weight difference than you think between carbon and alu it is more the components that weigh less. Remember the old adage light, cheap, strong pick any two!!!!
  15. Some good stuff called DZ Nuts (I Kid You Not) actually endorssed by Dave Zabriskie of Team Garmin fame. But then again depends what causes the blisters???????
  16. What about Kenda? Small Block 8 on the back and Karma in front?
  17. Dunno about Vitargo, but My wife mixed some Epic Pro for amashova but didn't use it. I used the week after for the Mtb versio (asishova) and it still worked a treat.
  18. The spark is more of a race frame than the stumpjumper in my opinion. I rode a stumpjumper and felt like I could ride through anything but it was not the most responsive. What about a Merida 96? I have one (surprisingly) and love it!
  19. I agree with a lot of the propasals but not with outlaying another R150 or whatever on a chip. Can't CSA contract one of the timing companies to time all CSA events. I have enough chips to rival Simba and have paid for most of them.
  20. Does anyone have some good info regarding flights to Cape Town For Argus. Been checking on the net but all are exhorbitant at the moment!
  21. Boet:............Works for me!
  22. From What I understand if you dont pay for the racing licence you gotta pay R35 per race in day licence fees, am I wrong????
  23. I agree. I think the new regs are rediculous. R425(R350+R75) is absurd. Cost less for your drivers license every 5 years. What do we get for that kind of money??? Surely a Data base cost less than all the riders in the country x R425?? All this plus the estimated R400 club membership fees we have to pay. My wife has just started cycling and does a couple of races a month she is screwed as she will never get the benefits of the R350 but will end up paying more in day licenses. Talk about having the interests of the average rider at heart NOT!!!!!!!!!
  24. Definitely helps with fitness. Been training for triple challenge so needed to do some running and I have seen benefits in my cycling.
  25. I Know it cops a lot of flak from some people but I have just started using Epic Pro. Tell you what for me it does work. I actually recover on the bike. 2 road races on it and 2 PBs. On the first I felt like I had popped a gasket but took it easy for +- 1km and believe it or not suddenly there was gas in the tank. Some guys may not like it but its the best product I have ever used.
