  1. yip, serviced the Freebody as well. So now I hear VERY little. Think I am going to remove just a touch of the grease.
  2. Right then my Techie Hubbers.... as an update.... WOW, what a dirty, long job! Got some Castrol light grease, did all the bearings int he front and rear wheel, packed with oodles of grease. Greased up the hub, where the freebody goes into the "magoefte" , think I may have put too much grease there (where the littel metal arms catch to drive and flatten on spin ). Long story short, I can hardly hear my hub anymore. It used to be that you could hear me from about 100meters away if i was freewheeling, no, I can hardly hear the hub myself and guaranteed, should I be trying to "sneak" up on a bunch, there is NO way in hell you are going to hear me coming. So my question is. Is this a bad thing, having too much grease in the hub? Also, I would think from a safety aspect, it might not be the safest thing to do, as no-one would be able to hear me. Should I remove some of that grease?
  3. Thanks, now I am a little more tech savy . bearings are all sealed I am gonna give the Castrol WD a bash this evening and if I cant come right with that or it doesn't work so lekka, I will give you a shout Mackie Thanks guys, the HUB is the place for the info YET AGAIN
  4. Thanks for the advice guys, you all rock BIG time!!
  5. OK OK, I am not the techie here Mampara, you should know that of me by now I would have though cup and cone, cause all the bearings behind the free body and in the hub are sealed???

  7. Sealed Bearings Cup and Cone.
  8. Good day all the Tech Hubbers I am doing a bike strip and would like to know what is the best grease to use in my rear hub? It looks pretty thin and would like to clean and re-apply, but not sure what grease to use. Advice appreciated. Thanks
  9. I am mailing it to you now. 1mb file.... Just type in the time that you want at the top of the 1st page
  10. I can only but try Working on a 33 km Average, should actually work out to just above that, maybe in the 3:10 - 3:15. Just need to stay on track, cause the BIG funride I would REALLY like to come in at around 3:40. Climbing is getting a bit stronger, managed to average 18.9km for OKW, Slangkop and Boyes, so if i can up that tempo to around 20 - 20.5 in the next month, I recon the 3:40 Peninsula Funride is going to be OK. One can only but try
  11. Yay yay yay..... Thanks Charltjie for the positivity on a Monday morning... Chaunce, you ROCK star
  12. What an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE! Managed to maintain a nice 30km average on the flats, really used the 25 on the back, made OKW and Boyes more bearable. Shifting and performance was AYOBA . Had a REALLY nice ride and well pleased with my time. Now just want to get in in 3:05 at the Medallion and I will be Happy Days
  13. I woke up still with sinuses stuffed, least no headache, so ent out the brave the bugger.... Had a really good ride though, even though struggling to breath through my nose. Ended up with a 2:34. Legs were SHOT by the end of Boyes, so cruized in from there. Happy with that over 77km, looks like my just sub 4 Argus may be a possibility.

  20. Pretty much, but I would swivel mine the other way so the bar ends faced forward
  21. Did that too.... Also used to do the turn whilst riding.... Fealess in those days . Only saw my bum once if i remember correctly, 2 days before starting high school. Cam round a corner, took it too sharp and rode into the side of a bakkie.... ended up doing a face skid, knocked out both front teeth, lost a LOT of skin on my face and arms Started High School 2 days later looking like a wreck..... NOT the best first impression
  22. , oh yes, remember those very well. Also, remember turning your bars "upwards" on your road bike, just to make you look "cooler" , so from the side, your bars looked like a "C"
