  1. That is CHAMPION! Well done MariusL and GOOD LUCK with the training. I have seen some pics of this event, it looks spectacular
  2. Know that feeling, HR rockets then, sit a$%# down buddy!!! I do think it has a lot to do with training more while standing. Would think that you could obviously ride a heavier gear as you would then be able to pull on the bar at the same time as using more "body weight" to push the pedal downwards. Must be a straggle with the pull motion on the alternate leg though??
  3. Ok, I will take the bait here first : Length : 1.81 meters Weight : 73kg Front : 50 / 34 Rear : 11 / 23 (until last week) 11 / 25 (New this week)
  4. Nicely done guys.... good luck
  5. That is serious, the bars look like the same height as the top tube . damn, his back must get sore
  6. That is a pretty decent looking steed.... Look at the stem though, that has got some SERIOUS angle on ti, looks as though it is pointing downwards
  7. My elbow was actually OK, more the shoulder that i was REALLY eina with. I wore a sling 24/7 for 2 weeks and 2 days. Tried to move it around from day 4 though, little uncomfortabel and painful, but I REALLY appreciate going through that pain now. I have FULL range of movement in my elbow and VERY luckily, FULL range of movement in my shoulder as well. Granted, 1 year later and it is a little uncomfortable if I sleep on my right side for more than a few hours..... Take it a day at a time, rest it, but also make sure that you are still getting motion into that joint, you will be back ont he bike in NO time! You should be able to start moving it along now though (2 weeks later). If you are going to ride, use proper strapping along the back of your arm, from your forearm to your tricep, with a couble of stability bandages across the inside of your arm. Good luck mate and SAFE riding
  8. Oh hell yeah.. Been there, done that!! I too fractured the radial head and at the same time, snapped all three ligaments on my Acromio Clavical Joint, grade 4 seperation Doctor said to me, "forget it sir, you will have to give up on riding the Argus this year", to which I replied, "I will come visit you in the Medic Tent at the end!". ALOT of pain, 4 weeks before Argus, and I was riding Chappies again . HEAVILY strapped up round the elbow and shoulder. I DID go see that same Doctor in the Medical tent by the way...... took him a coke So, all in all I was off the bike for 3 weeks, hurt like the $^%^&^* , but take it easy, rest up a few weeks then get back ont he bike.... Cataflam is your FRIEND
  9. RIP Andy, and condolences to yoru family in this sad time. I WILL listen to my wife more and "carry my medical aid card and details" when next I am on the bike
  10. I was thinking the same thing, close the the gravel road. Give us a nice round 4ish km TT. Those first rollers up from the gravel road are pretty steep as well .
  11. gonna mark it out tomorrow morning. Could make for some very interesting riding though. Whatever happens, it could only make us stronger
  12. Airbender, do a search on the topic, its here.... You have been gone too long I am going to mark out a TT up the hill over this weekend, been chatting to MariusL about it. Make our own Hub TT
  13. Used to ride with Outriders. Well, only once or twice, but it seriously DIDNT gel with me. Now, its me myself and I and whoever want to join in my weekend rides
  14. Am I missing the point completely??? This is starting to confuse me as well now. If I am a licensed PPA member, does that include my CSA license. I am NOT a cat rider (no chance of the EVER happening), but ride all the "fun" rides. I used to belong to a club (decided NOT to this year as the "click" in the group is ridiculous). What else would I need to do? Being from Cape Town and all... ???
  15. That is Brilliant, congrats on the sale Are you going Sram Force as well?? I have done a couple fo km's at a jog in the mornings this week....... Truly have decided that running shoes are NOT for me Walk sounds good buddy, should we do the Cobra route on foot
  16. Damn Berry, those wheels are the BIZ man!!! Gonna look Hot on your Scott
  17. Exaclty what I was going to do. Take some pics of the points to look out for and the Road Markings for the TT. "Map My Ride" it for the exact diestanc ecovered and get a nice elevation of it as well. I know that nowadays you need to be a "friend" of min in order to get teh routing and profile, but I will post the link here and see what sort of outcome there is from that. Next step would be for someone with a Garmin to actually do a profile of it with distance and elevation. Would be a LOT more acurate than my Sigma Rox 8.0. Right then, I will start a thread when this is all done.
  18. Coolerbags Roller up tthe dairy will be added in, just for giggles . It is a steep old roller that one! Does add abotu 1.5km to the climb as well, but for sure, it can only make us a stronger. I will be marking it out over the weekend, even if I have to drive over there, just means that i am not going to be able to get a 100% accurate distance though. I will more than likely do it timed on Wednesday morning, so will then pass on the proper distance and time.
  19. There are a couple of markers up there already Woofie. City Cycling Club has laid them down already. I think it just a case of remarking them to be a little more visible. I would go up there this week, but no groupset on my bike till I get my upgrade on Monday IF no-one has gotten out there by the beginning of next week, I will do it. I would think, right down past the dairy, where the little bridge is (closer to the gravel road), right up to the summit of Malans. That adds a little distance into the ride as well and there is a bit of a steep roller before the Dairy.
  20. Thats a very cool idea, I like it alot. Get to do a little warm up from the Contermans side, get down to the dairy and then TT like crazy back up! That should make for some serious climbing legs. I want to try get out there and do it at least twice per week. ALOT safer than Vissers and Tiekie.
  21. Nail on the Head here Post your details on yoru profile page Hubbers!! Come now, if you have nothing to hide, then share your information freely If you hve nothing to hide, then why not be open about it. My info is already available, has always been. Added to this, I am going to add my PPA number on my profile, take the first step, ANYONE going to follow suit
  22. I am pretty new to the "here", but I have conducted some business with a couple of Hubbers. Happy to say, all good to date. I DO look at Hubbers profiles before I will do ANY business with them though. See what the comments are like on their profile page, positive or ranting. I work D....M hard for my money and wont give it away in a heartbeat.... Just take care people, just take care!!!! If you have ANY insecure feeling, just DONT do it....
  23. NOT Ayoba!!! Come now Preston, this is a place where we (the cycling community), actually feel a bit safer in buying and selling our goods (well I for one feel safer). DONT let us down, get back to your clients and make good. if not, I truly hope that Chris C takes the correct route and gets you in a World Of Hot Water!! Good luck Chris C, Please keep us all posted.
  24. Holy Smokes!!!! Even if I had made it, there is NO way that I would have bettered my seeding anyway... That is VINNING up there, Avg over 30km/h?? WOW
  25. Now that is what I was trying to say, Spat, you just had the words
