  1. Geez Tankman...you have ridden a short amount with me.... I would be a total hazzard to all the guys that ride Killarney on a Wednesday. I would be like a per lap speedbump for the guys to ride over (EVERY SINGLE LAP )
  2. I will join you and match your R100
  3. Absolutely AWESOME!!! Well done Team, once again, showing the SA market just who the leaders are
  4. Of that you can be guaranteed . I even did myself the hugest favour and did my 2 hour interval session in yesterdays HOWLER of a SE, simply to try and replicate what Race Day is gonna be like..... Nothing like training in the wind to get stronger. Funny though, I usually see at least 30 people in my evening rides, there was NOT ONE person on the road yesterday evening..... So, get out there and train mense, its gonna howl on race day and you are gonna wish that you had just that little bit of guts to go out there and train in it
  5. Well done to both of you RTG7 and Joey100..... That takes a lot to be able to sort your "unfortunate" sale out Now do yourselves a favour and jump to the other thread on this specific topic and nip that one in the bud as well, its beginning to get ugly over there
  6. I could use that
  7. HA HA HA........ During you ride, do you get a craving???? Hectic. I can go 4 hours, not thinking of a smoke onthe bike. Mind you, as soon as I unclip from my pedals, my lungs start screaming at me
  8. I carry with me : 1 tube, 2 bombs, 1 chainlink, 1 gluless patch kit (5 in the box), R50, 1 x mini tool. If I puncture three times in a ride, well then, I might as well go home anyway, hence, 1 tube for the quick change, if i puncture a second time, I use the patch kit. Nothing really more needed in my opinion. I do NOT use a saddle bag. I pack in one little bag that goes on my left hand rear pocket.
  9. Cute pic. <y two are exactly the same, well actualy more my daughter than my son. So instead of me contacntly having to tweak my rear derailer back into the alignment, I decided to buy them both new bikes and a little tool kit. Now its "FUN" to fix their bikes when daddy is working on his
  10. So, back up to 6am gents? Sounds like a plan
  11. I agree, BIG bunch with LOTS of lights should be OK
  12. Cooler bags!! Lights at Dawn gentlemen
  13. I see this group reaching 30 +++ now
  14. I must say, thats NOT cool. I might be able to rope in a lady or two.... BOTH ride in L and M, the one having done the DC this year in 9 hours and neighter of them with an Argus over 4hours....
  15. Cool, I know where they are . Will pop in there before the weekend. Thanks a million
  16. come along
  17. Thanks Spinnekop, looking for some down here in Slaapstad
  18. Atraut, where did you get the Purple Extreme? I have been using Squirt and White Lightning for years and wouldn't mind giving Purple Extreme a bash (after your assesment).
  19. Ok, I might just be able to hang on to you fella's for a while then. Would be great to meet a majority of you that I haven't had the chance to meet yet. Also be good to see Mr bender and Berry again. I am "In like Sin" again!
  20. Which one? There are some nice looking bikes out there
  21. Thanks a mil for the advice, so I will be removing the majority of the grease and go back to the "Hey, its that guy with the Merida again - from 100meters away" Dont want to botch it up, so rather get the advice from people who know what they are doing, Drongo, thanks for the heads up and saving me some cash in the future, much appreciated.
  22. So I am not the only one , it is a k*k dirty job. by the end of this thread, I am going to be a champion Hub Mechanic, so of course, send it on down to me and I will sort it out for you ........ Seems like I should be doing this often, just looking for that little bit more out of my bike
  23. Its VERY soft, I can hear it very faintly, but at a race pace there is no way anyone else is going to. I think, I am going to remove my Freebody and remove some of the grease, at least up the sound just a little bit, seems like the safest thing to do.... Just means more sticky hands this evening
  24. I am using powerway hubs and they WERE really loud. Even had a comment about it on the weekends race . From teh safety aspect, especially in a bunch, I like to listen to whats going on around me, that way I know when I can back off the wheel in front of me cause you can hear him freewheel... In the case of this "silent" hub now, no-one will be able to hear me backing off (freewheeling) and might just end up eating the back of my Fizik Saddle
