  1. That is probably it... You taking to the Mountains??? I am off to the Green pastures of Wales (literally) and the high peaks in the Alpine Challenge
  2. , now you are just fuelling this "already just about out of control" fire! Seems to be what TheHub has become of late.... name calling, personal attacks... funny, it wasn't like this a couple of months ago!
  3. Agreed, you cant "legitimately" buy stolen goods. But if (for instance) Cash converters bought the bike and re-sold it to the gent in question, what would he know. I mean, If I go into a shop and buy something, I might be (unsuspectingly) buying stolen goods... What have I done wrong, besides spending my money in said shop? I would say that in this instance, it would be a legitimate sale, as money has changed hands and there is a record of the sale. Yes, it still remains stolen property, but in the above instance, would it be his fault. I still dont think posting pics of the guy on this platform, is the way to go about it....
  4. Guys... be careful here. NOT such a good idea placing pics all over the Hub of someone who might have bought the bike legitimately from the person who stole it. Yes, possesion of Stolen property is an offense, but wow, you cant go posting pics of the guy on a public forum. Find the correct channels and use them. I would be F*****ed off if someone placed pics of me on an open forum and I would definitely seek retribution and legal action against such person. Just my 2c worth.... Dont want any of my fellow hubbers getting into hot water over this...
  5. Disgusting, to say the least. I went through to the top of Suikerbossie Mid day and it was horrendous. Gel satchets everywhere. I wonder what their houses look like? Do they dump the empty milk carton on their diningroom floor? Who picks it up then? It REALLY is not that dificult to quickly slip the empty satchet into your back pocket or alternatively as suggested previously, buy yourself a hammer bottle to store your Gu's in.... What is R27 too expensive for you or you R50K bike??? Common decency and respect for the surroundings people, use your heads
  6. yip, wifes company photographer took the snaps. Some good looking pics
  7. More of the front boys, making their money
  8. Just some pics guys... Hope you like . . . or some dislike
  9. I am NOT too impressed... the last race they used for my seeding was the Three Passes (13/02/2011)... I had a pretty good Medallion Tour and also a pretty decent Bay City and Argus... Would like to move out of the back marking R group at least. Now it looks as though they will be needing to use my Malmesbury time as well for seeding purposes, that is 4 races to get a decent seeding on ahead of a VERY short MTB season for me
  10. 100% Great idea. NOT difficult to acquire the skills. I am NOT the strongest rider around, but I am NOT scared of riding in a bunch as I have been fortunate enough to train with a couple of big groups in the past. I ride 90% of the PPA events and a lot of the time, that involves riding "boxed in". I think a BIG drive needs to be placed on these skills. ALSO and NB NB NB...... Know your signals to those following in the bunch. I dont know how many times I have ridden over potholes and glass, simply cause the person in front of me either doesnt know how to indicate an obstruction in the road, or is too bloody lazy...
  11. I agree with you, this does all come down to bunch riding skills. Seems as though a lot of the guys riding in the higher seeded groups, seem to be doing a lot of training on their own or with a few freiends, get strong, but dont know how to ride when they have someone leaning on you or being boxed in or more than 10 people in a goup. Dangerous..
  12. I wonder the same thing??? How on earth do you control the unicycle ona decent??
  13. When I went up Suikerbossie, it was already bad (I summited at 11:50). I would HATE to know how bad it got after that. Dont people use their pockets anymore.... it is shocking!! Lets also bear in mind.... taking a Gu whilst going up Suikerbossie, is NOT going to help you get up there!!!
  14. I rode with a guy on a full suspension Giant + knobblies with Red Specialized Kit, from Fish Hoek to Simonstown, the guy was FLYING!!! Think he started in TT or soemthing along those lines. Would really like to know what he did, but he was putting the hammer down, BIG time!!
  15. With you on this one... Tour D'Coffee Shop it is for the next couple of months. Still Malmesbury in 2 weeks time, then its hill training for me until the end of June. After that, riding the hills in Wales during the warm season and preparing for the Alpine Challenge in September . Still got lots of work to do on the bike, but a good place to start after yesterdays ride
  16. STOKED!!! 36 in my group of 607!!! Official time of 3:57. Bearing in mind it wasn't a seeded group and I had to work my A** off and dodge some pretty intense traffic, I am VERY happy!
  17. Well done you super hero Sub 3 riders... gr8 going! I could only dream of riding like that and at least I have some riders tht I can aspire to One day when I am a bit stronger then I might be able to be there... I managed an individual Time Trial from Corporate Group KK, worked pretty hard on my own for about 90% of the ride and managed to squeeze in a 3:53 ( + 2 little technicals and a quick stop to give the kids a hug and kiss at the top of Suikerbossie)!
  18. WELL DONE!!!! Great time. I managed a 3:53 from Group KK, felt like a 100km+ Individual TT
  19. I had a chain jam into my FD at the top of Edinborough Drive and Top of Soetwater . Trying to change into the Big Ring whilst rideing my 25 at the back... CLEARLY this is NOT a good idea. So, 2 x 1 minute stops... AND I still managed a 3:53 from group KK , so VERY happy this evening
  20. Mr bender.... come now... Wear the "Stealth Mode" black. MUCH more understated and "Cape Town"! I will be there in all my stealth glory, with a slight touch of red in there just for warning and a BIG white e on my back!!!
