  2. 27 Artists with an orchestra and youth choir with all proceeds going to children's charities. How many of the 27 can you identify?
  3. New AC/DC song: Play Ball," the first rollicking, riff-heavy track to emerge from the Aussie hard rockers' upcoming Rock or Bust, has debuted online. Previously, a snippet of the song had aired during promos for Turner Sports' Major League Baseball Postseason campaign. The song is a straightforward, meat-and-potatoes AC/DC cut that tops out at just under three minutes. It will be available as an instant-gratification track to fans who pre-order Rock or Bust, which is due out on December 2nd.
  4. Friday afternoon - time to wind down...
  5. Yip, but Plumtree and Putt were immersed in Sharks rugby culture. My initial reaction is that Mitchell may struggle to assimilate. He's rumoured to be a fierce disciplinarian... and with the players reportedly unhappy about White's headmaster approach perhaps the twain never shall meet? His coaching history seems to have a recurring theme of departure with acrimony (ABs - Force - Lions). However, reports from his tenure as Director of Rugby at UKZN are remarkably positive, perhaps he has mellowed somewhat?! Let's hope so. Would be nice to be the bride rather than the bridesmaid for Super Rugby 2015.
  6. Former All Blacks coach John Mitchell is emerging as the front-runner to replace Jake White as director of rugby at the Sharks in Durban. Sportingbet installed Mitchell as 15/8 favourite ahead of former Springboks and Italy coach Nick Mallet at 5/2. South Africans Gary Gold and Brendan Venter are listed at 5/1 with a return to the job by Sharks stalwart Dick Muir is listed at 7/1. 7. Forget Rick Astley or Milli Vanilli at your next bad taste party this takes the gong...the song is plain awful but the video, you've gotta see it to believe it...
  8. Somethings are bigger than the game... All Blacks pause to flank old 'warrior' foe On a sun-drenched afternoon at Johannesburg's Witwatersrand University, Joost van der Westhuizen's smile shone brightest. Confined to a wheelchair, but his fighting spirit there for all to see, the former Springboks captain savoured the chance to meet the All Blacks on Tuesday (NZT Wednesday). Preparations for this weekend's test against the Springboks were briefly put aside as the All Blacks took time out from training to pay their respects to one of the world's greatest halfbacks. 9. Released a week ago: Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens - a rewarding listen...
  10. One of the new breed of American singer-songwriters. Pretty powerful stuff...
  11. Not much of a Grammar Nazi. Just over three minutes into the song, Weird Al uses a split infinitive when he sings: "Try your best to not drool". Whoops.
  12. Will have to be Elgar. Petersen gone for 34.111/1 at lunch.
  13. The first single, 'Rainbow', of Robert Plant's new album, "Lullaby And...The Ceaseless Roar" (Release date: 5 September).

  17. Peculiarly, Aerosmith are somewhat of a non-event outside of the States. Not sure what classifies a song to be "classic rock", I mean the Joker? And if Manfred Mann's Earth Band's version of BBTL is there surely that opens up the way for the rest of the Springsteen catalogue? Are they trying to tell us that "Dream On" is played more than "Born To Run"? Dream on indeed. IMNSHO, a bizarre list with little to no merit.
  18. Widely regarded by those there as the "worst live performance ever"... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAZTzaQ-sSc
