Done. Tumbleweed helped me out in the passed with a donation for new soccer boots for my maids son - his were lost in a shack fire. I asked on Bike Hub if anyone had a second hand pair of boots lying around. Tumbles immediately asked for my bank details - Nicholas got a pair of brand new boots. Tumbles is a really great guy who was happy to help out complete strangers. Helping to care for his dogs is an honour.

Great event, detour route was presently surprising! Couple of racing snakes who were rather agro out on the course. Sleep deprivation makes some of them a bit grumpy. To whoever took my battery charger from the charging station I am sure you did by accident?. It has white cable ties on it, please if you could message me I would really like it back. Having my battery die at 3am at the top of the climb is not something I would like to repeat. Thanks to the Dirtopia staff for finding Meurants bike and giving us his battery pack - we were able to continue the night riding!

But why cut out the fun parts?

This is probably why it had such a different vibe to the rest of the, R14000 per team, 3 day stage races. Some of the big events make you feel like a sardine squeezed onto a piece of trail to maximise profit.

This section was like a 10 km rock garden.

Well that was fun and tough. It seemed like 90% of the routes were single tract and people were so chilled letting faster riders pass but no real congestion.

I have heard of 2 scotties who drowned. Most can't swim but I did manage to teach ( with lots of effort) my moms current one how to swim and now she loves the water.
