  1. Yes just swim in your tri-suit. The difference between a trisuit and cycling chamois (shammy) is that the trisuit does not absorb water. Last year in Durban Ultra wetsuits were not allowed, and you just swim in the trisuit
  2. My package, with an awesome Fenix 5 arrived today... Whooop whoooop... How I feel like a little boy again :-)
  3. I was also between the F5 and the 935, but since I want to use it as a day to day watch, and only snap on a brown leather band, the F5 will look much more stylish compared to the plastic of the 935. I think the 935 will be extremely popular though
  4. My 5 is being delivered at family in the US tomorrow. Have friends that is then coming back to SA next week where I will then be a very happy child again lol Looking forward to my first Fenix
  5. There is a nice and well organized event in April, by Trinity Sports Good way to get a feel of what its all about I will probably be there again in prepping for Durban
  6. Agree with the coffee part. Over the last few weeks though it feels as if the coffee is not working... Read up on it a bit and most people/dieticians recommend more water. So from this week I will be looking at takings in more and more water. Hopefully that helps
  7. I feel that what works best for me is a lot of fresh goods for eating. Lost of fruit and Veg with a protein during lunch If I eat to much at one point I feel bloated and irritated the whole day, as if my training was an excuse to overeat (its not but it feels like it) So Ill have stuff like yogurt and fruit, smoothies, cheese with crackers and then possibly chicken/fish with veg for lunch For snacking I'll have fruit again or even biltong (I normally eat this when I get to work just because I love it) I've read somewhere that you should eat a nice, sustainable meal 30min after your training session otherwise later on your body will want to consume everything in its path I also only train on water (shorter than 2 hours) but can also feel I am taking strain so have started incorporating "game" when I run and cycle, not for the swims Hope this helps, and note its only what I feel works for me. Would like to see what others are taking in
  8. 100% correct. If you use Trainerroad for instance and therefore power based training, you will not have to shift gear ever. Thus setting a gears without any jumps and you can go as the trainer will adjust resistance as and when needed
  9. And that is the only reason I always make sure I don't do a sub 3
  10. Hubbers I need some guidance on a bike fit issue, please see below https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/165332-after-my-bike-fit/?source=lfp
  11. I did their first one, think it was in Oct this year... Very small but it could be a nice training run... The ride has some bad road out to where to get to actual road, but because of the 2 or 3 laps you hit the shitty road quite often... ita not too bad but not ideal. The run is on a jeep track so you'll have to pay close attention not to step on rocks or in ditches I did the Germiston one subsequent to that and there is no comparison... Germiston is much more organised although the swim in North West is much better and cleaner... When comparing entry fees however... Germiston is a little high Hope this helps
  12. Yea look I think it might have been a little too hard considering I could not hang on to the front 10% of the group on Hekpoort. But all in all it makes for some interesting racing and great training for the 947... Hope you are a good race further!!!
  13. Must say I enjoyed the race. Was very hard as started in CL chasing the main group for about 30km before we caught them Of a chasing group of about 8 only 3 of us consistently working, it made for some deep breaths. Overall well organised and a very safe ride. Hekpoort also never disappoints!!!
  14. He is nothing other than a Legend!!! ...And what a humble guy!
  15. Brand new mini Garmin ant+ sticks https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/177041-garmin-mini-ant-stick/ Mate of mine - I think he has 3 of them left
  16. As far as I know it has been navworld for quite a while. Last year just befor the 94.7 they sent me there. I must say I got great service and had my heart rate monitor replaced there and then without any hassle or even proof of purchase. Lets see what happens
  17. Please send this to a news agency like EWN or so on... This will run like the wind and these idiots might just wake up... All of us must just keep on getting the news to spread. More influential people will keep on fighting and we need to give them ammunition
  18. Best bike rack I have ever owned... Will never use anything else... No hanging of bikes and getting scratches... Its ideal...!!!
  19. Very good bike... It is basically an older model Bianchi which they gave a new paint job and fitted the latest gears... They do tend to go a bit cheap on the groupset which makes it VERY heavy. I think they put on Campy Veloce which compared to above mentioned 105 is very shitty... So for that price I would rather consider getting a better specked bike as with Bianchi you pay a lot for the name and actually getting a pre 2010 frame
  20. 1. You have to remember also that even if you sponsor a million teams and youngsters in cycling it still does not help my pocket ito race fees. 2. Another thing everybody know that cheaper events attract more people. The jock has been growing over the last 3 or 4 years again because of good organizing and the word is still spreading. You WILL get your money back with increasing entries. Now you almost double the entry, do you really think that the substitute for bulk entries is higher fees??? How does that make sense in a financial standpoint 3. Your brand image has got nothing to do with the people giving you a hard time on this "public forum" and this is the result of your dealings. How could races all over be run in previous years without a loss and now all of a sudden, with your increased race fees, it results in losses. You have to understand that we cannot be hold responsible if you lose money because of the exchange rate on your imported products. Because it looks like you compensate your losses by making it back in race fees. I do understand that you are a business and are out there to make a profit. But keep that separate from the race scene. Obviously you would not have taken over A LOT of the races in the country if they were making losses??? That would not be good business so I am struggling to see how you could have driven it into the ground? Please just remember that if cycling dies in SA because you try to bleed us dry, you will not have a business...!!!
  21. Yes it is open today from 17:00 Check it out on their website...
  22. Yup 100% correct
  23. I must say I can see the OP problem here BUT I am with the seller on this one. I sold a RCX5 in the last few weeks on here. I had literally 7 PM's from guys saying they definitely want it. I replied and NOTHING... You never here from them again. Some try to bargain a bit and then they disappear where others just never get back to you after they made the first contact and trying to reserve the product. If you hold it for them and they never get back to you, what then ??? Will all the other hubbers with all their high horse integrity pay the seller his money until it is sold at a later stage, if ever??? Cash is king!!!!!!!!
  24. You must remember that the "fast" they are talking about is just a marketing ploy. People that has been cycling for years just overlooks this, but for newbies it might distinct it from another bike that is probably the same. They don't lie about the bike so why does it bother you? I am sure you don't get bothered if you walk around in a shop and the salesman tells you that this is the best product since toast just because he sells it. If it help them make an extra sale I say go for it. It's not going hurt someone like selling a broken bike as 100% in working order... Just my 2c
