  1. Really shocking. Kids do NOT need supplements - ever. Building all that muscle on a developing body will take it's toll sooner than you realise.
  2. http://www.serendipitytrails.co.za/ Between Nylstroom and Naboomspruit on the R101. Just remember to pack your climbing legs - it's in the Waterberg.
  3. Does anyone know about MTB trails around Naboomspruit?
  4. Garmin is run by a bunch of sharks! They are not doing well in SA and rightly so.
  5. @Gadget - if you're going to take it to the pool a couple of times it won't be a problem. Just rinse it properly with fresh water once you're done and let it dry lying flat, out of the sun (I put it on towels on a bed for a day or so)
  6. if you have a strong core you will be better at any sport.
  7. Beware entry level components...
  8. On the subject of e-tolls
  9. Your mate is trying to con you dude!
  10. I have also pondered if virgin cant have some sort of "easy saddle system" where you can put your own saddle onto a post that integrates with theirs, then you can chuck it in your boot and just plug it in when you want to go for a spin. Pie in the sky...
  11. I clocked 90 km/h going down that hill. Going back up the 2nd time I clocked 9 km/h
  12. Ja luckily it wasn't too cold on the run Now is the time for the gadget guys to shine. Any one with a bike & run profile. The bike was a bit short and I think the swim was a bit long.
  13. Hi Guy, In the long run you'd be better off with a better groupset than SORA/TIAGRA. Have a look at a bike with a 105 groupset. But it's all about the budget hey. I must say - getting into triathlon is BAD for the budget - but GREAT for the mind and body!
  14. Well spotted Wil6! You know your internet well
  15. way too much bike for that price! Take a big budy with you when you go to check out the bike
  16. L-glutamine works for reducing pain and I would like to believe that less pain means better recovery. I take it only after hard efforts or when I (still) have sore muscles the next day.
  17. Hectic!
  18. Just now and I quote: "Nee dit is nie op die Spectrum Sport website nie, dit is net op Cycle lab, maar ek sal vir Gertjie vra om dit op die Spectrum website ook te laai En ja die race gaan aan"
  19. According to the race organizers it is going ahead. They will apparently update the Spectrum Sport website
  20. According to the gurus... Depending on the athlete, hard racing is not advisable for such a long period, so close to the IM. If you race hard, you should take at least a week off to recover after the race. That could play havoc with your training program and body state. Tempo training is advisable, but in much shorter bursts. And the 7 hour loooong bike ride - is not at race pace hey? It's about time in the saddle and sorting out nutritional needs. Not about racing...
  21. @GSNieP, If you can manage to contain yourself and use this as a training run to sort out transitions, race day jitters etc, it can work. If you cannot contain yourself and actually race it so close to IM, you will do much more damage than good. So the question is - can you contain the beast?
  22. Quite frustrating to say the least!
  23. Hi Garfield, Apparently it's quite flat (but looking at the area there is a lot op hills so I don't quite know if it'll be that flat) Apparently it's 2 loops for the bike and run and it is advertised as 90 & 21.1. You will not receive a swim cap. There won't be bottles of water on the cycling water tables (apparently you will be able to fill your bottles though). There is no word on the the amount and distances of the water tables. The only thing we do know for sure is that it is a non-drafting race and that it is on the 11th. Start time for the full is 07h00. Regards, Barend.
