  1. I have done this event once and loved it. This in spite of loads of cramping, pain and almost some tears. Stiff for around a week afterwards as well. Last year, I was injured. This year, I have an entry but have just discovered that my CFA Level 1 exam is not too long after The Monster So, I'm missing it again. Take loads of liquid, cramp blocker of your choice, sun screen, liquid, cramp blocker and some chamois cream to soften up the gooch a little. Most important, be sure to enjoy this event, if you're super fit, go for a time. If you're not, go for a jol! It's doable as long as you stay well aware of where your body's at!
  2. Doesn't look like it does much more than the 810 bar the Di2 stuff and a few other little bits. For the price ($600 according to Ray Maker) it hardly seems worth it.
  3. Momsen all the way, they're great bikes and locally produced. I'm yet to meet an unhappy Momsen pilot.
  4. Caveman Ninja?
  5. Don't think so. I think I read on DC Rainmaker that 200, 500 & 705 will not work.
  6. See what I did there Cave Man. You like a bit of a ninja lately with all the name changes. See what I did there?
  7. She could do my taxes if she likes
  8. The location of the OP in the other thread reads Krugersdorp as well.
  9. Then it becomes DIPS(lick)?
  10. Got this off DC Rainmaker's website last night, quite a neat little trick to try and get your unit home in the event of a loss: You can personalize the start up screen on some Edge models as I've done below. Link to instructions below... http://www.dcrainmak...ber-garmin.html
  11. Exacerry, they can sue if anyone's selling bikes with serial numbers!
  12. Any chance Cycle Science can come out of this re branded as "Official Importer/Distributor of Original Chinarello Bikes"? After all, we are a province of China aren't we? EDIT: They could even have a slogan like: "Your Local Cycling China"
  13. This must be the most "successful" first post in the history of The Hub. 75 pages Over 1000 replies Who knows how many views
  14. Jigghead

    Trisuit

I use an Orca and it's good and only cost around R1500
  15. I replaced my XT jockey wheels with aluminium ones. doesn't make too much difference I don't think. They were only around R150
  16. The Hub is wise. The Hub is Good. It's the accents that get me.
  17. Anyone call them for a quote on a Chinarello Bogma yet?
  18. Ja, posted this before I moved on to the next ten pages upon which time I was duly educated. To all the naysayers on this thread, I think it's quite telling that the bike shop in question has declined to comment. Granted, the thread is not that old and they may still be getting onto the Hub. But for someone to come on to a public forum and use his real name and photo, making those types of claims that in a relatively small industry could ruin the man's business, carries a bit of weight in my opinion. Who cares that he can afford two top end bikes in that space of time? Bottom line is that he was sold a fake and royally ripped off by what appears to be a crook who when called out flipped to OP the bird. I'd look to get this guy shut down ASAP. It's a principle thing!
  19. My question too. There's a big difference between a grey import and a fake.
  20. Innocent or not guilty. Always wondered if there's a difference between the two...
  21. I often post items with pics from the web, usually from the manufacturer's website. Their marketing departments are better than mine. I think as long as you're honest about the condition, the prospective buyer could ask for further details and actual pics if they want. The fact here is that Ronsha has been lynched in no uncertain terms, even after providing the goods because Bman took a chance and then started having doubts. Shame on Bman for rushing into this purchase without satisfying his own concerns and then voicing said concerns in public thus hanging the seller out to dry. This has been discussed on this very forum hundreds of times. Rule #1 of internet trading, unless you know the seller/buyer, goods and money must change hands simultaneously. If not, shame on the one that gets screwed for not exercising due diligence. After all, we know dodgy elements exist and it's up to us to ensure we proceed with care. Frankly I think Bman raised the alarm a little too early and a reputation has been damaged as a result. I think Oscar should be glad he isn't being tried by a jury of his peers, he would have been executed on Feb 15 2013
  22. I got a set with slicks on already. PM me
  23. I have a friend who's son has a very similar condition to this. He's now 11 and the medical bills don't get any less and life doesn't get any easier. I'm in for R2/km. I'll send the money now. Hat's off to the family, it's an exceptionally tough illness to deal with and the child requires pretty much 24 hour attention. EDIT: R500 transferred from Nedbank - should reflect immediately. Been studying since 4am had a brain fart trying to figure out R226 x 2 Reference used was "Jigghead for Riley" Go get 'em, please keep us posted your progress.
  24. I've had my unit for over a year now and really enjoy it across a number of exercise disciplines. However, every now and then, the unit measures my totals in terms of 1,000's of miles. Whilst this looks great it's extremely frustrating. I've taken the unit in to Garmin twice and they've replaced it twice (these guy's service is out of this world). It's now done it again. My swim for example reads as follows: 23,796 miles in a time of 7hrs38mins46sec. Now for the strange part. I have in fact since the last reset swum 23.79km and the time taken is correct. Any ideas as to what is the cause of this and how to fix it? I don't want to keep getting this unit swapped out every time the reading go south, or north in this case!
  25. Morning Hubbers, anyone know who the local agents for Crank Brothers are? Need a spare for a spare and don't feel like waiting for anyone to send it from OS
