Not a pretty lady, but this is my latest (last Friday), my kid's dates of birth...
  2. I bought a frame some time ago with the intention of building it into a single speed. The problem is that I've become so bogged down at work among other things that I've yet to do anything on it. The issue I have is that I'd like to ride 94.7 on the bike, so I'm looking for a "one stop shop" where I can take the bike and have them provide the parts and build it up for me, as well as assist with the respray of the frame etc. Any ideas?
  3. Leave your transition snacks/next leg drinks etc. under a towel to keep them cool.
  4. Plan your transition well, lay your run/ride gear out in the order that you'd put it on in. That way you wont forget anything.
  5. Always leave enough in the tank for the run. It's a lot hotter late in the day and you've been at it for a while already.
  6. Glad you're good. Seems even though cyclists are vigilant, the motorists are far from it.
  7. nah, all my runs are 250,000 miles :whistling:
  8. Here it is, I think it's their head office Kimbult Industrial Park 9 Zeiss Road (closest intersection: Zeiss & Seilskip roads) Laser Park Honeydew GPS: S26 04.646 E27 54.985 (hdddº mm,mmm’) Phone: +27 11 251 9999 Fax: +27 011 794 6054 e-mail: info@garmin.co.za
  9. Now I know that there has been a lot of talk about this type of stellar service from Garmin, but I think it needs a mention every time it happens. In April I bought myself a shiny new Forerunner 910XT and used it a few times. Then I got injured and was off for a few months. Now I'm slowly getting back to it and have swum three times this week. The problem is my workouts are not getting from the device to the Garmin Connect website. So it's off to Garmin we go for a check up. When I make it to the front of the queue, they take the unit away and come back saying the unit is poked, but don't worry, you'll get a brand new one as a replacement. The fact is, I waited in the queue longer than it took them to make a call on this (and I was only second in the queue). Garmin, you now have a client for life and a very willing mouthpiece for your products and follow up service. Well done and thanks for turning a situation that had me wondering if I should have moved from Polar into a nothing short of WOW experience.
  10. This aircraft crashed some years back at an airshow in Pretoria, which one escapes me, pilot killed though. A real hero he was, steered the plane to an unpopulated area once he realised he was in trouble ensuring no injuries on the ground.
  11. So who's heading off to Clarens today for a week of R&R?
  12. One step closer to getting our Spruit back.
  13. Ya, I may be guilty on this one, I tried in vain to sell me Polar CS600x for what I thought was a good price. I had to reduce it after a while and ended up selling for around 20% less than I initially asked. The fact is, that if we over price our items, we'll not sell them. Simple as that. Classified shoppers are hunting for bargains, otherwise they would buy new? Anyhow, lesson learnt and all walked away happy. I think we need to be negotiable on these things.
  14. I see by your avatar that you're looking a bit rough. Wanna talk about it?
  15. I bought a bike from Planet X and they gave the option of which side to have the rear brake. RHS for me. I write & throw with my left hand and do everything else with my right hand (golf, tennis, cricket & stuff etc.)
  16. Nope, if they rely on pressure, you're gonna need to replace them.
  17. What?
  18. The real question is HT or DS!
  19. Could be an effective contraceptive.
  20. You don't cycle to much at all. I realised that the problem was that when I wasn't on my bike I was talking about being on it. Apparently this is obsessive. So I started keeping some of the bike thoughts to myself when not on the bike and the wife kind of fell in line. Three hours of any exercise per week can never be considered to much imho
  21. Good luck with this, I have a client with it and it's definitely manageable, but it's a process.
