  1. I love the 27.5 plus bikes. In December I got rid of my Spez Epic SWORKS and got a Ellsworth Epiphany Convert. The bike comes standard with 27.5 plus wheels and can also be ridden with 29 er wheels. It uses boost hubs. My immidiate thought was to get 29 er wheels, but I decided to give the plus wheels a chance. What a revelation. I am faster on almost anything I ride with the exception of tar and dirt roads. The wheels are DT Swiss with 40mm internal width, I do think that they make a huge difference. The bike comes with Fox front (130mm) and back (120mm). Ellsworth suspension is legend. But the best thing is that I enjoy riding my bike even more than ever. I have more confidence, more speed and more fun. Sure I will get the 29 er wheels eventually for races like J2C, but most days I will ride my US wheels.
  2. I compare it to cheating spouses. Not everyone agrees with the cheater. Does all his friends suddenly leave him alone? Some do so don't. Does his spouse forgive him? Some do some don't. Personally I think cheating on your spouse is much worse. You should not be allowed to have any relationship again. I think you should wear a 'I am a cheating knob' sign around your neck. But it is not for me to decide. At least cycling have got rules.
  3. Well done guys! I am always keen to back guys like you that want to do something for themselves. I can not wait for my kit to start arriving!
  4. 100%
  5. Fand are you adding Daryl Impey to your list? Or should we not open that discussion? Only if you get caught and were punished should you be on the list? I agree with some of the guys, these guys have been punished, some for cheating deliberately, some for taking a banned substance by accident and maybe some for a false positive. Lots cheated and were never caught although we all suspect them, should we race in the same races as them? I will not let your list dictate which races I am going to do, for that the system is way too flawed.
  6. I got one as a gift. Was definitely not something I thought I needed. Now I won't go for a road ride without it. It works perfectly and it makes my rides a lot safer. I use mine with a Edge 1000.
  7. You made a good choice. I was always sceptical about Spez but after having riden my Epic since November including The Epic, I can not be happier.
  8. Yes he rides a 36 ring. He is a beast!
  9. He recons it is much more comfy when climbing.
  10. 188cm but longer than normal legs.
  11. Did they do a straight swop out? I've also got one that has had more issues than I care to remember.
  12. +1. These are the only shoes that are wide enough and they last a long time. Spares are available if you should need them.

Thanks I will, any idea what will be a reasonable price? What do they retail for?

    Baggies

Thanks for the advice. We looked at each other again this morning. I am still not convinced. I guess I am lycra boy, probably my years of road cycling before I became a mountain biker. I guess a add for 3 pairs of large never worn Endura Singletrack shorts will shortly go up.

Thanks for the replies. What shirts do you wear with baggies?

    Baggies

So my better half travelled a bit and bought me 3 pairs of Endura Singletrack baggies with click in liner shorts. I have never used baggies. When she asked if I wanted some it sounded like a good idea. I have not worn them yet and every time I open the cycling drawer they stare at me. My question is who on here wears baggies and why do you wear them? I either need to convince myself to wear them or get rid of them.
  18. My TallBoy LTC. XX1, XTR brakes and pedals,Fox 140 mm CTD fork and 135 mm Fox CTD shock with remote lock out, Ritchey cockpit, Enve wheels with Powertap at the back and DT Swiss front hub. XL frame, just under 12 kg.
  19. Nice sheet. I would add support as another column. You can get some feedback on The Hub. I will start. I own 2 Powertaps. The guys at Bicyclepower in Woodmead are amazing. They turn around stuff very quickly. On support they score a 10 in my book. I had a Quarq previously. It had a few issues and it was always a issue to get it sorted. It always took weeks to get any parts and to get anything fixed. I will give them a 4.
  20. It just shows how good Burry really was, no other Saffa in that league.
  21. Has anybody used any of the XLab bottle cage mounts on a mountain bike? I am specifically looking at the Superwing or Turbowing that can take 2 bottles plus some spares. I am considering this as: a) my frame don't take any bottle cages inside the frame; and b) this system attaches to the seat and not the seat post, which will enable me to still use the KS Lev dropper post that is in the drawer. Any advice or experiences with the above would be appreciated.
  22. I could see the feedback from both a moment ago. Not anymore. Positive was from the seller self.
