  2. Does anybody know which devices are compatible with the Edge 705 for power measurement?
  3. I was driving home last night at about 6.15 on the Kyalami road when I passed a cyclist going towards Woodmead. Although this guy had a reflective vest on I was right behind him when I first saw him. Please guys if you ride in the dark have a red flashing light on your bike. They cost little enough. I can just see the headlines and the outrage on the hub had I collided with this guy.
  4. Did you do the one and a half day course?
  5. I am aware of the courses presented by mr Bornman and CrankyMonkey? Has anybody done any of these? What is your feeling on this, is it worthwhile? Any recommendations?
  6. XT's definately. Had Oro 18's and had more trouble than ever. Got the XT's all trouble gone. Can swap the pads myself. I have seen the Hope brakes and they look nice. Their other products are very good, I am riding the hubs on my 29'er and they are awesome. Only problem might be support where you can not go wrong with Shimano.
  7. Where can I buy 29er tires? Which tires do you guys recommend. Ride mostly up here in GP on hard pack.
  8. Down Nic's pass on a tandem, that will be fun ... to watch!

  10. The 1 hour program of the Sani2C last night was quite good. For a change one could see the masses riding, falling and just enjoying the race. Everybody shown had a smile or a positive comment. Still the greatest race of them all.

    MTB Wheels

Ask mr Borman to buid you a set, using the best of everything. Hope hubs with DT Swiss rims.
  12. TitusTi. Thanks. I'm also quite tall (1.88) this is my main reason for looking at the 29 er's. I have not seen the Titus. Is it a full susser? What specs do you have on the bikes? What do you think of the GF? Any recommendation?
  13. So got it down to 1 of 3 bikes: 1. Niner Rip 9 2. Gary Fisher HiFi Pro 29 or 3. Ellsworth Advance. Weighing strongly toward the Niner, value for money wise it will be the best option. The Ellsworth seems to be the best bike but a lot more expensive. Any thoughts?
  14. There will be no Garmin Power Meter. It will be compatible with some of the other Power Meters. I.e. replacing the computer with a Garmin and using the other hardware in the hub/bb/crank.
  15. Thanks for the feedback guys. I will go and have a look at the Niner and the GF and test ride them if possible. I must admit it would be nice to be on a bike that does not feel to small.
  16. As for comfort, you'll feel more of an advantage than shorter riders. Because on a 29er the rider is lower in relation to the front axle, one of the things that tall riders rave about is that they don't feel like they're constantly going to go over the bars like they do on 26ers when descending steep, technical terrain I thought it was only me feeling like I am going over the handlebars all the time. Even if it helps a little bit it would be great. It will surely bring down my center of gravity as well, which in turn will help while cornering, any thoughts?
  17. Who in JHB stock them? I would love to go and have a look. One more question: Will a 29 Incher be more comfy for a tall oke like me?
  18. Thug, which model were they riding? Full suspension? I was to far back to see any fast guys.
  19. I know this topic has been thoroughly discussed. I am 1.9 meters tall 90kg, currently riding a Specialized Epic dual suspension on which I did Sani2C. I am looking to replace the Specialized. What should I look out for? I want dual suspension again. Budget not too big a problem must be reasonable though. 1. Being tall a 29 Incher? 2. SRAM or Shimano? 3. How much travel front and rear? 4. Brand? Thanks

    Sani2C

To all the hubbers doing Sani, good luck and have a great time. I cant wait to get down there. Leaving early tomorrow morning. Seems like the weather will clear but it might be wet already. Anybody got a update on the conditions?
  21. Cycle Lab. Got some there end of last year.
  22. On my second set of Geax Saguaro's. Will ride them at Sani2C. I find them very good in both wet and dry conditions. No puncture or sidewall issues as yet.
  23. If I can ask: Which Merida and how much are they?
  24. Also riding the Geax Saguaro's and will ride them at Sani2C as well. Have not decided which 'wet' tyre to take along. Any ideas welcome.
