  1. Exotic? then look at the Ellsworth as well.
  2. Mr Min. After you cleaned it with soap and water.
  3. My timing chip at 94.7. Luckily I live close to the start and could do a speed of sound rond trip and fetch it.
  4. [A few months ago the guys here disturbed a rather large python which tried to take a hap out of the last outjie Always make sure there is at least one slower rider than you in the group.
  5. Would go with the old Dura Ace and spend the money saved on a nice wheelset.
  6. that' difficult?seriously? To be honest: almost impossible. For this year's race the available spots filled up in less than 5 minutes.
  7. The two jockey wheels (or whatever they are called) on my SRAM X0 derailer is extremely worn. The top one much more than the bottom one. I want to replace them myself. Questions: 1. How easy is this to do? 2. Are these SRAM specific? 3. If not what can I use? Final question what happens when these are worn?
  8. I agree on that. I agree as well. A sane post at last.
  9. I would go with Hope II and ZTR. You probably looking at at least R10k. Just remember the Hope hubs are loud.
  10. Agree. They cut if there is a rock in sight. Will not ride them again. TryBoy2009-03-03 03:50:35
  11. I only had the best service from FPC on Witkoppen. No problem was to small for them to sort out, and I can be really pedantic.
  12. I need some advise or direction here. I ride a 29 er dual suspension bike. Currently I ride Hope Pro II hubs with DT Swiss rims and GEAX Seguaro tires. It is a tubeless conversion. Problem is that they tend to lose air whenever the back wheel slides sideways. e.g. into a ditch. I have tried different tires and different pressures with no luck. It happened again yesterday at NF. I could not get the tire to seal prperly after that and eventually put in a tube, which started to leak toward the end of the first 40km. Needless to say I had to quit the race at the end of lap 1 as I had no more tubes. (another question. what will happen if I use a 26 tube in an emergency?) What is the sollution? Is it the rim? Any advise please.
  13. Looks very USA like cars.
  14. Had a look at the Spez 2D. What do they go for?
  15. After Saturday's ride and all the comments on the state of my helmet I decided that it is time for a new one. The Bell has definately seen better days. Which helmet would you hubbers recommend? I ride lots and do not mind spending a bit of money on a decent helmet.
  16. I wont use them again. Cut the sides on both the front and back.
  17. Also ride a 29 er. Tried the GF, Niner and the Ellsworth Evolve. Eventually took the Ellsworth and I am extremely happy. The Niner was my definate second choice. If my LBS sold the Niner I would have taken it. They both felt a lot better than the GF. I guess it boils down to personal choice. At 6,2 I will definately go with a 29 er. It changes cycling for me. You get tires everywhere and it is definately not an issue. The rest of the bike except the fork and rims are standard. In Gauteng: GF at Cyclelab Niner at Morningside Ellsworth at Fritz Pienaar.TryBoy2009-01-09 12:17:56

Yip, it is. Once it's propped up I stare at it and dream about riding the awesome singletrack and downhills with my buddies again. Can't wait for this year's race. Remember the little bumps you have to go up as well Everytime I remember those I jump on my bike and train.
  19. Confirms what I thought about the average Yank's IQ. TryBoy2009-01-06 02:10:01
