  2. @ Jeepdude, what you do in hermanus - seen that bike in a shop window there but never seen anyone on it ?
  3. Speaking from experience, if you go Ti check what the warranty is and who REALLY does the welding. Don't trust everything you hear about Ti
  4. Thanks for the kind words Bella, like I said all part of the spirit. Sorry about leaving you on the misty cliffs turn Foef, you'll be glad to hear I didn't last up Chappies.
  5. Both guys are from JHB, one with a broken arm and the other on his way to CT by chopper. Doesn't sound good. The cycling community feels strongly that this is not going to be a R500 bail case
  6. It seems that two cyclists were hit by a car near Hermanus this morning, the grapevine has it that one is serious and that the driver was under the influence. Where is this going to end !?
  7. Be v v carefull, had a viral brain infection for training while sick. 4 day megraine wasn't fun.
  8. I've noticed similar marks on the underside of the down tube on my mtb, conclusion was that it was caused by the clamp on my bikerack ?
  9. I have a 26" susser and and 29" HT, and use them for different types of riding, the 26" more for multi day races because I feel it's more versatile and handles a wider range of terein with more comfort. The 29er is fantastic for all the reasons already mentioned, but like F40 said watch that tire weight !
  10. It's great to know that there are Doctors and EMS folks out there who care enough to do what you guys do. What a great sport
  11. Don't mean to be insensitve, but sh*t that's a lot of damage she must have been moving at some serious speed. Best wishes for a full recovery.
  12. If you're out in the sticks it's essential to have a doctor on hand/call.
  13. I have had an experience where a paramedic gave me a pat on the back and told me I'll be ok, thank F&^% friends who took a look at my helmet rushed me off to hospital to find that I had broken my neck. While I don't think it would be right to assume all paramedics are usless, there is a place for them at races. What would happen to the price of race entries if all of a sudden there needed to be 3/4 doctors around. One needs to keep in mind what the difference between paramedics and doctors is and what function they perform. my2c
  14. If I book now for next year do I still get the discounted rate ?
  15. Hey Jag wasn't there another comment like that from some big ass rugby player type this week ?
  16. Sheesh starting to need some serious coffee on this end and thanks again for organising Fanie !
  17. LOL - except that L is going to cost me an extra R200 !
  18. Please help - I've seen a post about this before but could'nt find it now. What is the difference between the EQ and ELQ rims ?
  19. Just bought some of these from CRC for R230
  20. Some help please: I'm looking at putting paddle leavers (brake & gear in one unit) onto a bike, do I need to have a rapid rise rear der ?
  21. Look there is already blood on the side of that jump
  22. Minty you little critter, I?ve only just read this. In my defense I did at least warn you about the breaks and didn?t leave you to find out the hard way, not like the seat and seat post you left me with.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I love my Scandal, it's fantastic on rocky sections, incredibly smooth in technical single track and that rolling over things is definitely not a myth. I would recommend this bike to anyone on a budget looking for a softer ride that a 26? HT
  23. Always fly with mine in my bag with the bikes, still here !
