  1. also... this skinny little man has road shoes on... how is he going to get away! hahaha...
  2. I'll rather do the original: tour de tuli☺ .. AGAIN
  3. yea.... get steel wheels too... steel wheels are REAL! how about making it a singlespeed...
  4. if you have any stock... I'll do you a favor and them off your hands... I won't even charge you ☺
  5. Robyn de Groot... She on form this year!
  6. for what its worth... my take on the situation. having a system that effectively relies on the moral standards of the people who have none is fundamentally naive. For the athletes out there... I am seriously sad for you that you do not have a guaranteed level playing field <vomit> to test yourself against your peers. (I really wish I could find a way to get funds to test (or cheaper test for) every bloody contender in every category in every race. I do not care about how rife PEDs are in other sports - we're on the right path. I know of many athletes(PRO, VET, MASTERS) who are involved in PEDs... and I am near certain of many others. I also have a list of possibilities-Simple data mining and cross referencing results and increase in "form". I have sent my list to SAIDS as well as a suggestion to strategically identify people of interest to test as Ironic as this sounds: I am not actually against drugs to make you perform better. You just cant expect to compete against your peers whilst choosing to do this. Sport is just a game... in the grater scheme of things its irrelevant.
  7. Haha.... Don't let the fact that Cavendish -being as fat as he is - who hides behind everyone for 210.8 on of a 211km Race is a *** rider! Hey guys... I like to watch to best people perform... That is why I detest these mtb participation shows on super sport... For the same reason... This topic sounds all whiney... If you like to ride for fun... Cool! If you're good enough to race... Then you should be competing... And then you will suck it up and train smarter and get even better.. I mean seriously... Should we start restricting downhills because fat people have an advantage? Or uphills because skinny people have an advantage? My advice... Train to win no matter what the terrain... And if you don't win... But you could give no more... You should be proud! Don't spoil the effort by trying to rig the event...
  8. You'll read what suits your opinion... My actual intent was to show that fitness and strength are just as important as technical skill... If not more! What I neglected to add was that fitness and strength is not something you can fix in 1 month of technical riding... XCO is high HR.. Fullgass... Bat outta hell racing... Without the fitness...no matter how many technical rests there are... You won't win!
  9. Not every course is identical... and I think that is awsum... each rider has their set of skills... sometimes the course suits you... sometimes not.... Technical Skills... some people need them to make up for the fact that they are not a true athlete... for someone to take 5 seconds on anyone in less than 200metres of non-technical racing means they weren't in it to start with! Hiding behind the fact that you can do "technical" stuff because you are not proficient enough to compete does not make you podium worthy. Its like in football... if you're not fit... you can complete until your tired... then it just gets laughable when the rest are not yet tired... Roadies are real athletes... they don't hide behind anything... its just you and your body... not "technical" sections to rest... just hardcore nuts-against-the-glass... nowhere to hide! I would like to see more XCO races... some that favour technical riding and some that favour proper athletes... its all good... PS... Should we also have a chickenrun "Shortcut" for slower riders? GO LANCE GO!!
  10. I'm surprised it took so long for this to start!
  11. Dude!! How you can direct a noob to suikerbosrand!!! They will give up cycling!!!-Unless they are a masochistic idiot like the rest of us!
  12. Silly idea: make sure chainring are fattened... Put a little grease between surfaces.. Loctight on all bolts... I had a crank like this for 2 years... Not an issue Good luck
  13. I'm confused??? undeniable advantages? I have ridden with 2x10 for more than 1 year... never had chain suck!... I never run out of gears... chain has never slipped off the front chainrings... Does limiting your gearing options and saving 150g make an undeniable advantage?
  14. My mate was offered a specialized SL4... I was with him... And I quote :"because I am such a good customer they did a once off special paint job on this original just for me.. It's too small for me. You can have it for R20K" Guess what? Is fake to!!!
  15. If it is in fact true... I guess we don't notice here because our tread wears out before the inside does #justsaying
  16. Ouch! Really?... That proves some merit in Kevin's frustration. I guess the organisers have a fine line to tread,: make it race friendly with loads of place to pass ; and put in loads of singletrack so that it is super-fun..., The latter is obviously not conducive to overtaking... The former is just not fun! I did see the video... Copied from phone... Could not add as a link. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/z219ftsb40dggn4/qA2oQPTk14 What the footage does not show is how long he was stuck behind the group .. What it does show is the 20m he gained... And how slow they were riding. Anyway... What's done is done.. Kudos to the guys who completed the race... When you get home don't forget to re-introduce yourself to your family and friends :-P
  17. Have not read the entire thread... but been following for the last few days... You guys are sooo up in all the rules... there is intent and then there is what transpired. IN the TDF Lance did some bush whacking after trying to avoid an accident... this action cut out 50 meters or so - I think - he was not penalised. I know they are 2 different races... I just want to point out the fact that its arbitary... did KE ride away from those guys or did they stay together after the incident? either way... he took a path that was unchartered... and possibly waaaaay more dangerous than the "track"... forget about the penalty risk... think about hitting a rock or a hole... The fact that their team have made some PR blunders have clouded some peoples objectivity... but hey.. its all good
  18. @godzilla... Gerald De kock articulate and eloquent ?? Don't know which school you went to: "and -ah and-ah"... I want to vommit every time I hear him trying to figure out what to say... If you have nothing to say shut up... Think about what you want to say and then say it. I've got issues... I know
  19. Get gears... My chain never falls off... Technology has come a long way ...
  20. c'mon... that is a bit harsh... they do come and go
  21. I reckon the idiot should continue riding through red robots... And hey... Why stop there if he's a real man he should ride without a helmet too! Come to think of it he should ride with smooth tyres... And wearing dark clothes at night... GO LANCE GO!!! <with Clappy hands >
  22. Owning up to crime doesn't make it acceptable... Well... Unless you're in government
  23. I think this is awesum! I agree with most of what they say... and its really funny
  24. Ahhh... So Admin needs to use the relevant facts for the relevant article Tx..
  25. I thought if you are XCO champion... You can only wear den bands in a XCO race. Am I mistaken? Or did he win the marathon?
