  2. Do you have any more questions ?
  3. Interpretation: "I was in the yellow line so I could jump the traffic at the light, this guy on bike waits until it turns green before he starts pedalling and trying to feet his shoe pedal thingies, I went to go past him but he was avoiding a taxi - also in the yellow line - I had to clip him with my mirror to take the gap to get back into the proper lane."
  4. Not that I condone violence against cars but did you ask your colleague the real question --> "Cause or Effect ???" there's always a story behind the story.
  5. The 2009 edition of the Tour de France will start in Monaco, organisers confirmed on Thursday. This year's Tour de France started in London, while the 2008 edition will get underway in Brittany. It will be the first time the race has started in the Principality. The official presentation of the 2009 race takes place on Friday, December 14. The last time the race started on the Cote d'Azur was in Nice in 1981.
  6. IanJ - you could always just admit defeat and give the bike back to your friend - problem solved (well, yours at least)

  11. And your emergency contact deatails are very often on the reverse side . . .
  12. If we want the sport to grow, then we have to accept that Kyalami is a safe environment for people to learn the ropes as well as improve their skills. As Hubbers we should appreciate the facilities at Kyalami and not assume that we have sole right to them. We should also be experienced enough to anticipate the novice moves. E.g taking the narrow line etc. No one person at kyalami owns the tarmac. You cannot adopt the attitude of "anyone going slower than me is a moron, and anyone going faster than me is an idiot" If you're going fast - go where the people aren't.

  14. Use your road bike. Try and stick to a gear that is the same ratio (or harder) as the single speed. That way you get the best of the worlds . . . except for waking up an hour earlier to shave your legs, put on all that lycra, pack your energy bars etc etc. If you have an MTB - go on that - at least you can stick to the pavements and avoid cars - trust me - they hurt. And if it rains before you ride home at least you have the equipment equal to the conditions.
  15. Hi Johan, How about doing a special rate for Hubbers? Once-off or once per quarter?
  16. Did any of the pro's crash on the last two tight left handers? (Turn onto Broederstroom road, turn up the to the finish)

  18. Ask your LBS for Silverback: estimate prices: Reno (R2100) - Nebraska (R7500)
  19. There's no substitute for road. Use your IDT/Rollers for controlled envirnonment - Heart Rate Training and Intervals.

  21. How many couches will he include for the R5000 ?
  22. Whatever you look at - it's always a good idea to have your LBS give you a full demonstration. Simple things can be immensely frustrating - especially for the larger frames. How long did it take them? Did they manage on their own?
  23. 3yrs ago a new one was this was $1500 / gpb400. Today's price R2000 max. Better to strip the bike and sell the parts. Better still: Donate it to BEN (www.benbikes.org.za)
  24. It's all about the target market. Chat to Kevin Vermaak or the Cape Epic webmaster. Those guys train some pretty weird hours and I'm sure they won't worry about the weight if the product works and stays on the bike.
