  1. We used to get a smoothie voucher for making your goal which is now 40 coins. So I kind of expected a minimum of at least 40 coins to keep the reward the same. But looking at the game board that I got this morning ... 20 possible picks with the following 1x diamond 1x 100 2x 50 2x 40 4x 30 10x 25 Somehow this just doesn't have the same motivation. Just saying. Unless you stack your plays on the game board and play all 5 plays on the same board maybe then you should have a bigger chance of getting something other than a 25
  2. Thanks all for the birthday wishes
  3. Will try the “insure” drive app option tomorrow on my 4km journey. But it will take me the whole week to get to 100km.
  4. How quickly do you guys recon the entries will fill up this time around?
  5. Thanks Iron. I worked hard for this one. Consistency pays off.

  10. I have a total of 117 QOMs This number includes my riding activities only. Running CRs or other activities are not considered here. The average length of my QOM segments is 2.46 kilometers With an average grade of 2.7% My average QOM speed is 20.05 km/h Among my QOMs there's a total of 11 climbs This number includes only segments officially tagged as climbs on Strava So, climbs are exactly the 9.4% of my QOM segments Getting more into details, I got: 11 QOMs in category 4 climbs Want to know more on how Strava climbs are categorized? Read here. I am the QOM in 38 short climbs Short climbs are segments with an average grade of 3% or more, but they're not long enough to get a climb category on Strava Short climbs represent the 32.48% of my QOM segments I got the QOM in a total of 67 flat segments A segment is considered flat if it has a global average grade from -3% to 3% Flat segments are the 57.26% of my QOM list In particular, I mastered a total of 17 sprints Sprints are flat segments with a total length of 1000 meters or less, where explosive power is often crucial for achieving the first place. And consider that I have the lead in 14 time trials A time trial is a long flat segment with a total length of 3500 meters or more I own the crown in 1 downhill segment I consider a downhill any segment with a global average grade of -3% or less Downhills are exactly the 0.85% of my QOM segments According to my results, my QOM profile matches with Rudi Altig Rudi Altig a.k.a. "The Mannheim Colossus"
  11. There is a program function on the Polar website You pic the distance, the race date and so one. It then calculates the program for you based on your settings. You can move exercises around, allocate additional rest days. It also adjusts the program from time to time. They also have a race predictor times for 5km 10km half and full marathon based on your current training results. I have followed the 5 and the 10km programs before and the prediction times was out by 10 - 20 seconds on each.
  12. I would love for this to be true.
  13. I went to the big red barn on Sunday for the 21km hosted by trail adventure. The overall route was fairly flat but legs felt heavy from the previous days wattbike session. The first 10km was nice and easy and I managed a good pace. The next 5km was more technical with lots of twists and turns and short ups and overs which killed my legs. The last 5 was pure mental, but I survived. Overall I am very happy and finish just under 2:20.
  14. How was everyone's running weekend? I saw a few of you did wanderers, how was is?
  15. That will only mean more subs. Not that I care... I think they must change to process that you can only enter once you have qualified.

  17. Did the pre run of the Midrand striders half marathon today. Good news ... it is a new route... still a tough route but very nice. Got about 6-7 km of dirt roads in the second half
  18. Yesterday I had one of my best runs since my back injury end of 2014. It's the small milestones that makes all the training and rehab worth it at the end.
  19. Going to Ngwenya logde on Friday. How safe is it to run alone on that road towards Komatipoort?
  20. I had a pair of Saucony Kinvara's. The were very nice in the beginning but started going down at about 400km, I continued using them until 730km but they are now my fishing shoes as they are no good for anything else. I am now running in the Freedoms. It so far so good. Overall a much better shoe for me than the Kinvara. As for durability I am now only on 90km.
