  1. Also up to 1000 today. Boom and there discovery have me. I will not meet my target anymore.
  2. We all have daytime jobs so we only get to go to gym in peak time. Argument not valid for this conversation.
  3. Not so easy, if i want my cycle stats and running stats to display correctly I will be required to stop and start a new activity to select the relevant sport mode on the HR monitor and then Disco will not combine the activities afterwards --- results in only 1 exersize with 1 x points. YES it is important for me to select the correct activity type as I use my POLAR as a training tool. and .... the Gym only allow for 20 min on the dreadmill (as per the myles definition).
  4. I'm also willing to share data, but I'm just a normal average Jane who revs average.
  5. Chill boet. I didnt buy the watch and nor did i see or read the terms and conditions. Im just saying from what i have seen and thr advertisement the deal was with discovery. Paperwork and all. Guess sometimes some people forget that is it ok to have different opinions and see things differently.
  6. Myles if you buy a LG fridge from PnP and it goes faulty under warrentee you need to phone or take it up with Pnp as your contract was with them. They need to then sort it with the supplier not the customer with the supplier. Same goes with the watch. If the contact was with discovery then disco needs to deal with the supplier.
  7. I wasnt refering to the HR rereffing high and reffing low.I dont think disco even knows when and by how much they are going to push the targets up with. If the knew they would have published the timeline with the respective targets mapped out. This is a big wishy-washy incentive program. I used to be involved in a banks incentive plan and the design and implementation thereof... If there was any union involvement to protect the members this plan would have been canned a long time ago. Edit : all in reference to the apple watch and the VAR program
  8. Im with Nathrix. If the reward money for the watch owners is the same then the goal should also be the same. You cannot say MR A is a lazy ass and if he only does 1 30min exercise he can have his watch for free but Nathrix who is already fit needs to do it 7 times a week to get his watch for free. Its not on.
  9. As far as I know Barhugger is not on facebook. Not sure about the other social media platforms.
  10. I did not signup for a watch. Im saying that you are still paying the monthly membership every month but you are missing out on rewards. It maybe a cashback/smoothie what ever reward disco decides to give that month.
  11. Or you can see it that the people are doing exactly what the disco system are designed to do. Training in the zones and times recommened by disco. And if you dont your doomed by paying without getting rewards and if you do your also doomded for overtraining and being stupid.
  12. I will put another spin on this. My target is also sitting on 700 points for this week. I have a couple of issues with the current VAR system but will only elaborate on one of them. Saturday morning I was pushed for time and couldn't fit a 90 min session at 70%. I had to do my 300 points session on saturday with the rest of my training planned at 100 points another 4 sessions, in total 5 exersizes for the week. In order for me to get my average HR above 80% for 30min. I had to do it from the start without any warmup, go as hard as I can for 30 min. Then stop the stupid watch and start another session to record the rest of my ride home which is silly. With todays technology this should not be nessesary. So I achieved the 30 min above 80% but today I had to go see a chiro / phisio and Disco will pay the bill. Just because I did not warm up and that to be able to meet a stupid target with unreasonable points allocation. If I do a warmup before hitting it hard it will be unlikely for me to hit the 80% mark and performance wise I will perform better. I can still handle 1 speed/power session for the 30min above 80% but more that that in one week. I won't be able to handle. As it is I am starting to feel depleted and demotivated. It really has taken the enjoyment out of my cycling. (if i wanted to race I will enter an event)
  13. Here is the link the Sherif was refering to http://www.mhhe.com/hper/nutrition/williams/student/appendix_i.pdf
  14. Was wondering last night... how much of your training file does discovery get from your HR monitor. Do they only get the totals and averages or do they actually get the full file?
  15. I haven't applied for the free entry as I already have other plans for that weekend. It would be nice if they do this more often but with at least a month before the event and not just 2 weeks. Makes me wonder if the organizers received less than expected entries this year. Surely it cannot be feasible for Vitality to pay full price for all their riders.
  16. I would love to do this as I have never been to clarens-golden gate area, but my training buddies are all mountain bikers with the exception of the one who shall not be named who also rides on the road.
  17. Was wondering what happened to you as I haven't seen you on Strava.
  18. Dont think Discovery realise how many people will get burned out / overtrained and getting injuries by exercising constantly above 70% and 80% of MHR. So happy i have not taken the apple watch. Happy that i have a Polar.
  19. Thanks Gerald I was looking for this earlier on the discovery site but couldnt find it. My eyes must be as lazy and useless as my legs.
  20. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the 25% or 50% cash back on the entry fee once you have completed the event and listed it under the "Claim points for outdoor activity"?
  21. When do we get to see your new bike on the morning ride?
