  1. You're Garmin battery ?
  2. Not a racer... and prefer a smaller chain ring up front for trials type riding. but I hear you
  3. This is what I did, got a 11sp deore 11-51 and then purchased a 12 speed deore rear mech. Works perfectly with my 11 speed XT shifter. Then a few months later I realised I don't need the 51 and cut it off making a lightweight 10 speed 11-45 that works with 11 speed shifter and rear mech. (as its still 11sp spacing)
  4. YAY... Now I can do the argus on a single battery... turbo the whole way and then get my medal and hard earned beer at the finish. This is fantastic news.
  5. Perhaps they (his mates) are scare of his wrath. (or the fist rule of fight club). Im sure this is not the first time he has done something like this and won't be the last either.... must be something he enjoys doing.
  6. There seems to be a lot of suppressed anger and some are doing a good job at keeping it in check. Now not only do I have to worry about cars on my cycle, but triggering some cyclist as well... seems best way to stay safe in the cradle is not to make any eye contact.
  7. And me with my Rainbow cassette and matching ti- oil slick brake caliber bolts. even the bolts on my cleats are Ti- rainbow ... just in case I happen to crash and someone sees the soles of my s-work carbon shoes.
  8. I only buy a bike from the bike shop ... It never goes back. I don't trust bike shop mechanics ... I was one once...... Learn to do it yourself .... it is rather therapeutic working on your bike. But am sorry to hear about your issue, sad that one has to worry every time you take your bike in for routine maintenance.
  9. Can one sign a petition to have him and his gang banned from cycling events ? And would something like that work? or is it wishful thinking ... I want to go ride the cradle this weekend but scared Fisty-Cuff guy might be out on the prowl ... Suppose he is probably doing the 94.7 ... so should be safe.
  10. I blame the Cyclelab cycling gang as are they notorious for taking over the whole road... and ebikers of course cause they just take over. But in all seriousness , This kind of behaviour is totally unacceptable. Since when has cycling become a UFC battleground? I don't know both side of the story,(there are always two sides) but as I read this as it stands this person is in my eyes a feral_human
  11. Wonder if found , if you can have him banned from all cycling events indefinitely ?
  12. Yes... Biggest smile you will ever get riding a bike....
  13. if you weight under 80kg and have a battery over 700w.h and use lowest settings with good rolling tires then yes . if not ... get a second battery and have it sent to a water point. I managed to to 72km (1600m) with 11% remaining this weekend on a 700ah battery and I weight 87kg running maxis DHR tires and used the trail setting a hand full of times when my legs were starting to cramp, the rest I was in a modified eco settings. (purposely went out to do a range test) so I think a lighter rider with good rolling tires should make it.
  14. Those media Ebikes they use on the epic or un-restricted. Was behind one on the epic this year on Table mounting road and the guy was pulling away from me as if I was standing still .. my bike was cutting out at 32km and he was just blasting ahead. Suppose it has to be to keep up with the top guys on this flat sections. But a legal Ebike, is not the much faster.... My top speeds are higher on my Normal bike, but my ave speed is higher on the ebike.
  15. If you want an unbiased review of the difference I suggest you watch this video. It will give you a better opinion. The Bikehub is so full of hatred and fear regarding this topic, I suggest go give it a try for yourself.
  16. Add Amish bikes., push bikes to the list
  17. I would not have it any other way… mmmm crispy cream.
  18. Mine has 4 people peddling uphill ...
  19. I only see a benefit of drafting a ebike on the technical downs ... where a more advanced rider can choose the right lines and the others follow his wheel. Drafting on a flat will have no benefit as you mentioned. Top end riders with leave a ebike in the dust on the flats. and no ways a legal ebike will keep up... Only benefit on a ebike is uphill, but not sure how drafting uphill can help as you still have gravity you need to overcome. so other than moral support... no real advantage on a MTB race... Never ridden a road ebike not sure how that changes things and if there are other speed restrictions? perhaps someone can chime in? Was looking at all my strava logs yesterday looking for a particular ride and noticed that I am not any faster on my ebike in terms of top speed.... still faster on my enduro bike when it comes to top end speed... but my ave speed is higher on the ebike. - I found this rather interesting.
  20. If someone has upset you then flag the ride.... But yes, they should be kept separate in strava.
  21. Trials on a ebike .... ok, that trumps all
  22. Gravel bikes are essentially 1990's mountain bikes .... they belong with the 26ers and suspension stems. - Might as well ban them with the rest of those shaved leg strava hunters. Who have I left out ? I think the only real riders are Trials riders ... now that's proper skill.... hippedy hoppedy over rocks and ledges.
  23. Add that to the banned list...
  24. Ebikers banned from the mountain. MTB banned from the road.. Road cyclist banned from the cradle. And all lycra banned from the sport ... Now everyone will be happy
  25. That's why they make long non lycra pants ... https://leatt.com/za/product/pant-mtb-enduro-3-0-v22?selected-color=5440 Love them. comfy, dont overheat .. and no mud in my crack
