  2. This is fundamentally not true tjom. It was read and queried, WCDH have come out about this as well as Stefan Garlicki. Perhaps pull this to the other thread instead.
  3. Precisely what I said John. "It's more than just gees" ... at the end of the day when people have been self funding throughout an entire season as well as the expectation for WC, there should be some latitude. Or are we just chasing hunger games vibes.
  4. That would be something, really looking forward to watching the racing!
  5. They're self-funded, so let it be their prerogative to go and compete. Wether it's for a result on the podium or outside the top 100. It's about more than just 'gees'
  6. Five positions are available in elite, are we saying that only a single one is up to 'par' .. especially in the context of self funding. Theo Erlangsen qualified for two World Cup events this year and had an invite to RedBull Hardline, if that isn't good enough, then there's a problem. But, DHI is a blip so why bother questioning anything right.
  7. Sounds a bit bro sciencey, generally enjoy much of the JB insights. But lately his bias is becoming more and more evident, particularly apparent regarding anything EF. Starting to show that he's been away from the actual pulse of the sport for too long now IMHO. Interested to hear more of the insights from Wiggins though. Between him and GH we seem to have better insights, rest is fast becoming banter.
  8. Thought you wanted to move on? You were pointed out to a number of corrections to a lengthy post, in particular that overriding authority, emergency services made the call. And now you conflate it further with a comparison with completely different scenarios. It’s not useful to the forum or relevant.
  9. Could be any range of things from dehydration to something with diet/nutrition. Go for a checkup at your doctor, preferably one with a good knowledge/specialty in sport. Will do the necessary tests and you’ll have a better idea than anything here.
  10. Good news all things considered. That was a proper fall. Looking forward to seeing more performances, works well with Gibbon imho and it was great to see Gibbons on the front in the closing metres yesterday.
  11. In two minds, may have an opportunity to take on a friends entry. Just weighing up travel options in costs/logistics. Love the region, so regardless of weather it’d be a welcome escape.
  12. So far I’ve found the best thing that works for me; a mix of peanuts, raisins and biltong. Optional add on, a protein bar/s and maybe some gels.
  13. So were you doing more harsh things then? Your first port of call would be to check your insurance t&c and Titan’s warranty info. From there, contact KP and/or Titan.
  14. Yip yip. Sir M made it.
  15. Saw that, obviously a typo. But my bra, the person doing the SM updates doesn't do the dope testing or other complex issues. Email them.
  16. So what's the problem? Server maintenance, transfer, database update. It could be a multitude of factors, it's two whole days over a weekend, planned for and a notice issued ahead of time. As long as the DB integrity is maintained. It's not that uncommon for organisations and it's not like the entire operations are out for the period. There's still testing etc...
  17. Congrats, you're on a winner here. Many many big smiles and happy miles!
  18. Really sad, honestly hope he comes right. @Mamil you phrased it perfectly
  19. To paraphrase, shew! There's been some really subjective/bad advice dished out, fortunately some folk have pointed out a better direction. Something to note on older Epic models is that you could likely end up out of pocket/spares with the Brain. Especially if the previous owner has not kept up their maintenance. Great bikes, but if you're unsure around checking suspension and wear items like pivots, you could be caught unawares. True of any purchase, but anything with propriety stuff needs extra consideration. Of all the options put forward, the Merida and Titan are your best options. Although it's worth noting that the Merida 99 has seen a pretty big update to the frame design. The Cypher seems to be really over forked at 150mm, I'd question this as it would on the limit. From previous talks with Titan I was looking at a bigger travel fork and the suggestion was that 140mm would be the ideal max. Everything aside, my money would be on the Cypher, it's the newest of the bunch and has a pretty decent spec which can be upgraded over time. Personally, I'd move away from the plasticky SX/NX and move to Deore at that the level. The Microshift is perfectly fine and widely specced by numerous brand in the industry. They're a newer player but have been around a while. Interesting factoid; the local Merida agents are also the agents for Microshift and a couple other brands like FLR shoes etc. They're also the owners/partners of Titan Racing. All in all they're a good crowd, are responsive and the support is there.

  21. What do you mean by XC versions? Hardtails? Full suss?
  22. Web options and respective podcasts; Escape Collective OffRoad.cc Road.cc Velonews Pinkbike Reality is most platforms will have some form of subscription base. Producing content editorial stories that isn’t advertorial content costs money and free ends up the most expensive.
  23. Epic move 😋 … the Chisel hardtail is a firm favourite for for many, so seeing an FS version is encouraging. There’s also the alloy Crux. Although not without precedent, back in 2015 there was the Epic Comp alloy which ticked all the boxes and was apparently approx 800-900grams heavier than the S Works frameset. Comparative pricing was +- 38k versus 92k https://www.treadmtb.co.za/bikes-specialized-epic-comp/
  24. Would venture the best people to ask are Avianto themselves.
