  1. you cyclists are so unreasonable, cannot even make peace with yourselves.......
  2. anatomic/cyclone in Parys. They have the South African market reasonably well stitched.
  3. is this stop-go frame by frame filming?
  4. wencher as well, I hear. Just keep him away from the beers.
  5. so what do you do to your mechanic when he makes a hash of your bike, buy him new one?
  6. cry me a river.......
  7. mascara? beard? WTF? just have to ask.
  8. as with all thieves, there is no honour. If LA hints at singing, all those he has "promised' to "protect" will hire an orchastra to deafen out his solo.
  9. Who would want a 29er carbon dual suspension frame. If you need that to go onto gravel, maybe you should stay on the tar.

  12. eat less. exercies (cycle more) THe body will know what to do.
  13. The problem is that in cycling accidents the cyclist is normally the innocent party, but because all motorists are afraid of the moment they kill a cyclist they put up their defence mechanism to preempt the occasion with excuses. Over the 2000+ cycling deaths over the last decade, only 5-10 (maybe 50 max) can be attributed to a motorist colliding with a "group" of roadies on a training ride. That is less than 1%. The fact that the motorists are complaining about some cyclists behaving badly indicate that they had to have noticed them (and take the necessary actions (safety) first). The majority of cyclists who obey the rules are simply not noticed (which explains their high death toll). So using economics, it actuall makes sense to cycle like an idiot and by doing so get noticed, thereby passing the risk of the road to the law abiding cyclist (who is not noticed).
  14. Did it years ago, still got the tshirt. Great race, just takes time. Think of comrades on a mtb when planning the training rides. Some clubs see it as their alpha and omega. Pack rehydrate, as you will sweat and sweat and sweat. and get a good set of lights. You will need them. You can use the Stary nights 24hour as a training ride to gel with your partner.
  15. the idea of lite scares me. Tiagra is okay, better than sora, not as good as 105. Ride is recreational and probably skimped on wheels, front derailer and brakes. Race implies better quality in those areas. I prefer to "build" my bikes from frame up, so entry level packages are dark magic to me.
  16. a glock is a beautiful weapon.
  17. which one was on the giving end: Girl friend, or owner of the stuff you were acquiring,or irate cyclist, or yourself?

  25. I cannot help myself, I just cannot stop adding to this drivel. There are many aspects that need to be covered when judging a frame. Comfort, stiffness, dampening, Responsiveness, weight ext. Now each of these are important and tend to negate the other. To achieve the perfect balance you can "play" with a number of variables, such as build material (and mixes thereof), geometry, "butting" or reinforcing and molding of a frame, and componentry. A carbon frame can be built to be less comfortable than an alu frame, because responsiveness, weight and stiffness are more important (this is true of pro bikes). An alu bike with slack angles can be "Softer" than a carbon frame. However, as a rule carbon can acheive a better mix than alu anyday, however steel still seems to trump on comfort still. So when buying a bike one needs to first decide what you need and then buy the appropriate frame. For race snakes carbon is King, for recreation steel may be best, but Alu will be lighter and cheaper. For touring steel is the only option (personal opinion of course). To compare build material without being specific about the particular frame is really irrelevant. You need to say X frame vs Y frame, rather than carbon vs alu v steel vs titanium vs carbon/alu mix ext.
