  1. he won!!! awesome race! looks like holy roller had the best seat in the house, just next to the hot seat maybe a new career, not just printed media anymore
  2. Better than the Charge Spoon? i sold my gobi and put the spoon on the anthem x, so much better.
  3. no, biopace changes chain tension too much. you can never use a jockey on a fixed.
  4. my previous fixie http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3322/3266747312_ceaf624b38.jpg i got a newer, smaller frame now. the old one was a bit too big. the smaller one is maybe a bit too small, so im still looking for something new. will try to get a pic up later.
  5. ANTHEM!!!!
  6. probably, not! will be like a red rear derrailleur, different cable pull for the 10 speed.
  7. im happy with my sram front derailleur, works great.
  8. looks interesting. weight is not that wow, but still light. i want the cranks!!!

  10. "We the people" have some great bikes, maybe a bit more than a mongoose or gt, but a lot better than them. look at the Nova and Arcade.
  11. baie!!! is baie happy met myne. check hier
  12. Maybe its just advantages for me ok, i agree with you on the increase in stiffness. i just dont like the fact that you are limited as to what parts you can and can't use. I dont realy see the need for lock out on the giant, mine rides the best with the shock open, even on the flats. yes the lockout is hard to reach, but i cant complain, i dont need it.
  13. Do you have xt brakes as well? goodridge will be heavier than shimano. - you can save some weight going for either hope mono mini pro's or some avid juicy ultimate's or magura martha's. - Kcnc Road pro clamp is good option, i have one and are very happy with it. - Xtr rear derailleur with kcnc pulleys, alloy cable pinch bolt, maybe xtr front also with alloy pinch and clamp bolts. - alloy bolt for stem top cap. - alloy bolts on bar clamp for shifters and brake levers. - alloy cassette lock ring. - Aligator i link gear outers.danlate2009-02-21 13:31:35
  14. this is a prototype giant anthem x advanced. It will be raced in the epic by Rune Hoydahl. Claimed weight for the size Medium frame is 1998g incl. rear shock. more impressive than epic or spark i think. http://www.the-daily-tread.co.uk/anthem_x_213.jpg
  15. ive not heard of this, but http://www.fixed-mag.com/wordpress/ is pretty big here in the uk, they distribute it for free and you can even download the pdf. fixed gear is getting massive here, just this weekend a new shop opened in london, 14bikeco, its like a boutique!
  16. its 531C tubing. a lighter version of 531 for competition, hence the C.
  17. built my first fixie, its a dawes racing frame from the 70's, and its massive, 64cm ctt. a bit of a deathtrap at the moment, will add a front brake later this week. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3322/3266747312_ceaf624b38_b.jpg
  18. Man thats LOUD!!! But in a very good way nice bike!
  19. i can make a plan. pm me.
  20. ? how dare you say you did not like a Fizik saddle? It's the be all an end all of saddles. Just look at the pros' date=' most of them use them. Don't you know that it is all about image ang price these days.? ? For MTB I would recommend a Charge Spoon. You will have to import it but it will be around R400. Was the best saddle in WMTB last year. ? ?[/quote'] my vote is for the Charge spoon as well. i had the Gobi on my anthem x for a week, and it was the worst experience ever. i put my spoon from my hardtail on and the problem was solved. will get another spoon when i get rid of the gobi.
  21. Giant anthem x gets my vote. best bike ive ridden in ages. As far as specialized's reliability goes, its crap. friend of mine bought a new, redesigned epic marathon. had it for 2 weeks and the frame cracked all round the bb shell. they replaced the frame, after a long argument saying it was his fault. then a week later the shock goes. not good. another friend have a older epic. he is on his 13th brain. again not good. Specialized have made great bikes and good designs in the past, i give them that. i have had some of their older bikes. but the last few years the quality have gone down the drain. i wonder if its maybe some thing to do with the fact that merida have a big share in them now.
  22. i thought racism is not allowed on the hub? tut tut fishy
