  1. Awesome looking, could you imagine the snake bites ! Ouch
  2. Seems to be another "rule" for us to follow. Just pay TSA and then you pay to enter races to ride your bike and run in your shoes. R325 is this years fees, for what I ask? Maybe Dan has the same issues Some people are taking the piss so to speak.....
  3. Just silly, How are other road user supposed to give respect to cyclist when they dont even use the sections made specially for them by tax payers. Pity we can't have it up on the reef if they not keen down there
  4. Sounds awesome, just need to keep my K1 face the right way up
  5. I have vw aircooled fetish that eats up all the cash left over from the cycling expenses. Couple 60's bugs, westy camper and Single cab split window.... All weekend toys unfortunately The single cab is good for lugging kegs ! http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd427/klausRSA/347d72fa.jpg
  6. Ouch ! Moral of the story is that he should carry a fire extinguisher. Had a similar BBQ the other night in one of my classic cars and thankfully had an extinguisher at hand.
  7. I had a blast, best single track I have ridden for years. Not one technical issue with the bike or legs. Beers were cold at the end of each day. Big thumbs up to all the local community that contributed to such good memories and laughs. Probably the best organized South African mass gathering event I have ever been to. My jackets and things were all wrong sizes and didn't even get the Aca Joe stuff yet. Others I know have a lot more things to worry about than such trivial stuff. I'm sure they will sort mine out when they get over the wind up as they said they would. Well done to all
  8. And there is always an issue when luxury coach has a problem..... Talk a bout Turning a blind eye. One less toyota on the road.... Hope the passengers were okay
  9. I got bitten by a rock on the top of climb when my pedals wouldn't release my shoes.... Also wasn't so fun. It is a bit of a tough ride for game viewing
  10. Thaba trail in Alberton also has some wildlife
  11. +1 You can also sneak onto the 4x4 course for some fun
  12. The boot strap on rack is a good option. I have different cars so can work. On hatch backs, sean and vans. Very good option for the future changes in cars and if want to use a mates car or use rental. I have the Thule one and not had a problem with the different cars and different speeds.
  13. Which one fits you better? Which one are you most comfortable with? I do see the 500 specs are coming down from previous years
  14. Very sad, rest in peace I think I passed this scene on the way back and didn't think perhaps fellow riders were involved. Condolences to the families and loved ones
  15. Delta park and the spruit aren't race routes, just be courteous to other users..... Not hard
  16. Done... Hopefully something will come of it
  17. Use the acetone but have clean water handy. Use cotton wool and the acetone and wipe over the new crap paint. Rinse with clean water and cotton wool. Repeat until satisfied. The new paint is probably cheap crap and will come off fairly easily. I have done this process on a vehicle will good results so should be good for hard type bike paint (underneath) and annodised materials.
  18. How do you secure the boxes for transit ? Zip ties or a lock ?
  19. Would be a cool commuter. Seen the various motor options years ago, including electric, but lately not interested with dealing with customs and other hassles of importing thus if someone locally is making a living out of doing the conversions I may look into it.
  20. Is the friday ride a club only ride? Sounds like it could be good..... Are you riding up to ontdekkers first?
  21. <p> Unless your lady is informed like mine
  22. Linden cycles hires bikes out. Dont know which bikes though. Most of the bike parks have their own hire fleet too If you want to hit some dirt Linden Cycles 63 3rd Avenue Linden Gauteng South Africa Telephone 011 782 7313Email lindencycles@gmail.com Depending how long you want it for may be cheaper to buy a entry level road bike and then trade it back in
