  1. So what range of kit do you have the rights to distribution for in SA?
  2. Get the Thule rack - seems to be put together a bit better than others. I bought one about four months back as I sold the other car. Works perfectly for my new sedan, the girlies polo and my kombi. There is one for three bikes and then the is an american spec one for two bikes (all black in colour with adujstable locking pins) I got the latter on advice from the chap at thule and haven't had any issues. The have a fitting sheet for it to tell you which pin position is best for your car.
  3. Does any one know of any swim specific stores or a store that sells decent fins and snorkels for training in the fourways area. Sportsmans and the like dont seem have anything in stock.
  4. Klaus

    SunScreen!

Swear by it and convert almost everybody that forgets their general brands at home. Dont seem to have that sweaty sticky feeling like with other brands !
  5. Do you know when the entries will be open for this. Glad to hear your team will be involved with it
  6. Go for both. Get a decent road bike and the mountain bike. There are more and more off road Tri's and Duathlons on the calendar so at least this way you will have a good choice of options.
  7. Thanks for a great event. I enjoyed it - dont think the legs did though. Not such and easy course after hitting those hills 8 times in a row. Will be back next year but with a few other people. Course was too tough for a solo stint without the rest. Vibe was good and I think next year will be better. I think though you should move some of the transition area up to the first climb so we can setup our stops with a view of the racing. Thanks to the marshals as well that were constantly fixing the drop off and the incline just after it Well done !
  8. After a weeks worth of training this was a bit of a suffer fest. Just no power in the legs, should have learn't from the last race I did out there and do a bit of a taper. Was very happy to finish though and it was an awesome day out ! Those climbs with the kopie rocks were made but had a blast hoofing it down the steep decent. Hands were a bit buggered so just did a Minnaar and just gave it - good fun
  9. I'm keen. Sounds like cycle clubs for different areas could organise a mass public ride. Short distance to get "the non cyclist" type involved to - maybe they will see the light!
  10. Awesome ! Any news of the chuffs that stole your other bike?
  11. I think we need to support the folk that support our activities - so hopefully teak will sort the service out !
  12. It is sad - They've got awesome trails and what used to be great food and service. Was there on saturday and had pretty much the same story. we sat up at the restaurant level though with not much difference. Ordered a breakfast and got my scrambled eggs and mince (cold) with added plastic tub of butter and jam right in the middle of the egg - yummy I like processed plastic in my eggs! Think its just down to the training. really awesome place but need to jack it up a little !
  13. I was wondering while voting why it isn't all electronic with a paper back up should you need a re-count. My ID wasn't scanned, just my info ticked off on a scruffy piece of paper. What happens if the paper goes missing or a chap spills his tea on it ? How to they recon the votes against voters then ? mmmm... at least we try !
  14. Has ABSA been notified ? I used to work with one of the big banks and they take these things seriously. They will put their fraud division onto the account to watch for movements. Maybe they'll catch the idiot trying to withdraw something.
  15. Well done to everyone ! You are all awesome people !
  16. Why dont you check your local bike store with regards to putting on a front fork for you to make your current bike a bit more useable. The V brake can be made to work well. I put those Tri Block pads on my old bike that I keep around and it stops just as well as most bikes with disc's
  17. After not being there for a while we went on saturday and yep it is really good. We took a few newbies with us and we all had a blast ! The floating bridge is good entertainment ! Only downside is that breakfast ends at 11:30
  18. I was in Belgium last year and they were doing a project to get cars off the streets and people onto bikes, buses, trams and trains. If you were a local registered tax payer and signed up to this scheme then they'd give you one of these bikes (painted in bright yellow to match the transport authority colours.) Makes you think about our transport "solution" !
  19. Nice one -good to see there are still some good folk left !
  20. Looks like you had an awesome ride, stunning scenery !
  21. Awesome ! We want bike lanes. Gonna go burn some tyres !
