  3. Would love to be left alone - I can not help this guy follows me from thread to thread. It extents outside of the tri threads as well. Its all there. I get attacked out of the blue for no apparent reason.
  4. How old are you? like 5? I said I was going to buy you a beer but I guess in your mind that meant freedbies and your eyes lit up . Attempted backtrack on what??? All is there to read troll. I said I might not do the race because I think 4 laps in an area where I train will be boring (for me) and congested (imo). I had an entry but didn't use it has my car was broken into on the morning so the decision didn't even need to be made. It had nothing to do with money little man The difference between you and I and commenting is I actually do triathlon and provide positive contributions and don't come here to troll and criticize people on how they choose to spend there money (because you cant afford it). Im embarrassed for you, truly. When you meet hubbers aren't you embarrassed by the stupid things you write?
  5. What's wrong? The cut off is at the river crossing not the end? PPA website has all the details
  6. Impey also in the OGE team!
  7. Sounds about right ... im 1.74 and ride a 15" 29er frame. Don't think you get much smaller than that 650b?
  8. Details of duration, length of time for the check ups ect.
  9. Where did I complain about fees? or for that matter criticize those who did enter?Try reading - I said I would be paying R1k to run 4 circles in a area where I do most of my training. ie it would be relatively boring and imo very congested. I am going to watch and was going to offer you to buy you a beer, maybe even a craft beer if you behave. Im sure you have always wondered what they taste like
  10. Ive done Southern Cross
  11. I want to see if it works first but quite cheap if it lives up to the claims
  12. any thoughts on this - a mate just ordered one but Im a bit skeptical http://www.trainingmask.com/
  13. Slanghoek (not an ultra though)

  15. At least there will be no wind .... first time you will hear of that in Cape Town.
  16. haha perhaps not knowing that would have been better! That's a R1000 towards a weekend away with the gf - sidekick race's power meter
  17. my initial reaction was the same - race at the waterfront - how cool. Then I looked at the course and realized I would be paying R1000 to run 4 circles where I train 80% of the time. I might still change my mind though
  18. Is it a limited medal event? Thats a huge problem if it wasnt
  19. 1h48 for me
  20. Like when I bought your carrier. It was a good price and I knew wouldn't be available long. I paid and came straight after work .. granted you live 300m down the road
  21. Park behind the PnP in Rondebosch ... close to the start but a little walk jog from the end
  22. It's the first one that came to mind as its boldly written on the bike. Ive owned two treks, both low end and both had hand made It will not be considered a deceptive practice for a marketer to make an unqualified U.S. origin claim if, at the time it makes the claim, the marketer possesses and relies upon competent and reliable evidence that: (1) U.S. manufacturing costs constitute 75% of the manufacturing costs for the product; and (2) the product was last substantially transformed in the United States.[2] Easy to do when the manufacturing costs are low. This is applicable to the "Made in USA" slogan not Trek bikes per say
  23. There is built and manufactured. The parts get made in China but assembly in said country - hence Trek is hand built in the USA. Im not sure of the percentage but a certain amount needs to be done in said country to say its Italian or USA built/made. There is a dedicated thread to Chinese carbon frame but that is not the issue being discussed. Many hubbers have unbranded Chinese frames but this issue it about fraud and deception from someone that should be trusted
  24. Andrew by your calm and well written responses these guys never stood a chance ... you make a number of good points and I hope this is the catalyst for sorting them and others who try similar scams out. Best of luck!
  25. Like cars that cost more than houses ... gotta keep up with the Jones' Doubt most of us ride at a level that justifies those machines but its their money and I respect how they want to spend it if they have it. Like the car example I don't get why people would spend a quarter of their salaries on a car they spend a few hours a week in.
