    STI Repair

Ja, it's also the left one. Just seems to have been "hyper-extended". really don't want to drop R3k on another one.

    STI Repair

Stuck at a wonky angle and not changing gears. Is braking fine. Don't want to buy a new Dura Ace groupset, nor STI for that matter.
  4. Where is the best place in Northern JHB to take a Shimano STI for repair? I have a damaged STI from a little lie down. There's no visible damage on the outside, but she's not working so well. Please don't tell me I have to replace it!
  5. Thanks, that's kinda what I had in mind. So I went through and had a look at this machine in store at lunch today. I like the fact that it's one press of a button and everything is done. Probably going to go with one of these. My only hesitation is the pods and the long-run cost thereof. So my question is: Is there an all-in-one bean-to-cup cappuccino/late machine that does it all at the press of a button, like this machine? i.e. no pods, separate grinding etc. At a similar price point?
  6. Disclaimer - I don't drink coffee at all. Not for health or any other reasons other than I just don't particularly like the taste. I want to buy my wife a Nespresso (or similar) machine as a gift. She's no serious coffee aficionado, but she enjoys her daily cappuccino or late. Which model is the best? I can get my head around spending R3-4k, but not R10k+. Thanks

  8. Ja, Just roll out of Didima to the boom gate and turn right up Mike's Pass. Hope you like climbing
  9. IMHO Sub 3 Argus = +- Sub 6h30 DC.
  10. So... does anyone else ride their road and MTBs opposite to each other, like me?
  11. Sure, but I thought that the riders could only have spares there and couldn't have the mechanics physically help them?
  12. For her partner's bike to be fixed or for her partner to fix her bike? Can she have outside assistance?
  13. Agreed, the win seems out of reach, but their "race for the podium" is not yet over.
  14. Not so fast... just over 5 min behind podium and less than 6 behind second place.

  16. Are you guys using power meters or is this just the Strava imputed power?

  18. Based on my times across the two (have about 10 of each) I would say that if there is reasonable weather in the Cape, add about 10% to you 94.7 time to get an indication of your Argus time, given similar fitness levels. Having said that, my strenghts are probably more suited to the 94.7 as I like the rollers and don't like the wind that much.
  19. Don't know if there is any photographic integrity to this, but it's an intersting story as to how I took it. Very basic point and shoot. No flash and couldn't have the exposure too long due to the movement, so used a candle on the table as a light source. (not cropped or anything, obviously. Straight from the camera.)
  20. I've had a similar problem twice, when changing wheels between traiingn and racing the little magnest on the spoke sometimes bumps against the speed/cadence sensor each revolution and then gives strange readings. Realign and everything is fine.
  21. Ja, but if you are going to be dropped and finish with the group behind, you might as well start with them and shave 3 minutes off your time. Decisions, decisions.
  22. So... if you're seeded in A, but the training hasn't quite gone acording to plan, should you drop a group or two before the start and hope to stick in that bunch to the end, or suffer for as long as possible in A and then limp to the finish TT style? Which should get you the best time?
  23. Exactly, or ride with no chip and not get an official finish.
  24. What kit were you in?
