    Thule Euroway G2

Hate to burst your bubble, but Cyclelab has it for the same price and there is a Hubber in Nelspruit that can get it for you a bit cheaper. I'm also looking at the exact one, so let me know what you think when you get it.
  2. Vehicle has to stop and pull right off the road. All cyclists have to be stopped and off the road and behind the vehicle. No feeding/bottles on the go allowed.
  3. Bought a bunch of conti 60mm tubes, but the valves don't seems to be quite long enough. Which are the best to use, or should I just buy valve extenders?
  4. Okes recon that C is the best group to ride in. No tactics and swinging d1cks, just everyone trying to go for a decent time.
  5. Arran is brilliant. Sometimes he's a bit difficult to get hold of, but he is very good at what he does and friendly etc. Worth every cent!
  6. Pfft - Light Beers, now who's too serious?
  7. Just use Parcelforce, it's as good as DHL, get's delivered to your door and you can pay the duties via ETF while the guy waits, no problem.
  8. I'm sorry, but this is just Bullsh1t. I ride through the Cradle most weekends and although is frustrates me that some cyclists behave badly, this type of reaction is not justified. Fisrtly, we ride though the Cradle because it's very quiet, from a vehicular traffic perspective. Very few vehicles pass us on weekend mornings in the Cradle itself. I see many of the comments come from people in the Western Cape. This is not Chapman's Peak or Constantia Neck. How many people are actually being inconvenienced vs the number that are getting to enjoy this area. Secondly, many of the Cradle residents have businesses that are supported by the cyclists and other related tourism. You can't tell the cyclists that they're not welcome and still expect them to come and spend their money there. Thirdly, residents and bikers never seem to be obeying the speed limit. It's all vey well be hoot at cyclists as you fly past at 120km/h riding as close as possible to them. I'm not justifying the way all people cycle in the Cradle, but the residents, how many of them are there actually, need to chill. I wouldn't do this, but it's not unlikely that someone reacts to the drawing pins and returns the favour. Then what?
  9. Wow, this is getting technical, but interesting. Mark, you seem to have a wealth of knowledge about nutrition. Can you recommend a good book or something that could be a guide to daily eating, including food types and recipes etc, for athletes? You input is much appreciated.
  10. This is the most impressive number of the lot as far as I'm concerned. Is it real (not on a spinning bike) and if so, where did you do it?
  11. Thanks Wannebe, I go to a bio twice a week (have been for almost a year) and do another session with my physio/pilates instructor once a week. The knees do fall in a bit, as expected, but mostly the stability from the knees down on both legs (I did have surgery on both) sucks. It's getting there, I was just saying to Airborne that the big muscle groups are easy to rehab as you can see results quickly. It's those small little F#$%ers that are frustrating.
  12. Micro fracture is the name of the treatment, not the condition. It is a treatment designed to stimulate the growth of cartilage by drilling tiny holes in the end of the bone where the cartilage is missing.
  13. I have never been mucn of a runner, but I can run about as well as I could before. I used to play a lot of touch, but I have cut that out as it's not worth the risk anymore.
  14. Airborne - I had microfracture just over a year ago (also had ACL reconstruction on the other knee on the same day, but that's another story.) It might already be too late to be telling you this, but do your rehab exercises - the boring ones like lifting your toes etc. - properly and regularly from the start. No weight baring for 6 weeks takes major strain on all your muscle groups, but the bigger ones recover quickly, like quads etc. It's the small stabilisers that take forever to build up strength again. A year down the line and I'm strong, but my balance and stability (one leg squats etc) sucks! Also, go and see a good bio ASAP. Physio is good and necessary, but in my experience they don't train you well enough to get back to full fitness for cycling. Less than 4 months from both surgeries and I did 94.7 in a reasonable time and within 9 months I did Sani2c and Joberg2c. Good luck
  15. An honest question - why are there import duties on complete bikes and not on bike parts? Is there an industry that assembles bikes that they are trying to protect?
  16. Also got their newsletter - mmm, how'd they get out addresses?
  17. OMG - Paddy Agnew is a cycling commentating god compared to this plonker. What a joke and it completely spoils the whole experience. He doesn't know any of the cyclists, he hesitates and stutters and he can't read what's in front of him.
  18. I love the way they use road bike sizing for MTBs
  19. Just wait the couple weeks it takes to see Arran - he's well worth it IMHO.
  20. Thanks Spaceboy. This answers part of my question. Now which brand and model fit Juicy Ultimates best?
  21. Anybody?
  22. Probably a stupid question... I have Juicy Ultimates and am trying to buy pads on CRC. Which are the correct/best ones for generally pretty wet riding?

    Barbeton

    Will be there
  24. Do you skip the customs delay if you use UPS? Do they sort that out themselves?

    Breedtsnek?

Anybody keen to give this a bash this weekend? Sat and/or Sunday?
