Depends on how dirty the bike is. MTB generally bi-weekly unless i have managed to keep it clean. I seem to manage to get dirt in to all sorts of parts. The only way I seem to get it properly clean is doing that. Also take the crank off every now and then to get the stupid grinding sound out. Road' date=' cluster comes off bi weelky aswell depending on how much rain and dirt i get thrown up. I am a bit of a clean freak so...[/quote']how long does a bike clean take you then ?bi weekly ? thats alot - I mean how much timedo you have on your hands? Yeah, like i say depends on how clean i can keep it. a clean generally takes me about 30 mins...

I like good old fashion Wynns engine degrease for chain and casette, but i take then off the bike first. Have also tried an aerosol spray degrease, worked great, but very expensive for the amount of cleaning i got out of it.
  5. Yeah, thats the one. I just can't even drink the Naartjie, heck the smell when you open the packet is enough to send you running. Ah well, i guess the hunt continues for the perfect drink.
  6. Mookyspunky hows the flavour for you? Bought some to try over Dec on training rides, think it was the Naartjie, but could not handle one sip, it was horrid. Is there a chance that the stuff was dodgy or something because man...Pickled2009-01-06 01:47:15
  7. Kind of on the topic, has anyone tried BeeMax Enduromax?
  8. maybe the 38mm would be better in terms of cross winds, but the 50mm don't give too many issues in terms of cross winds. I ride a set of 404 at 74kg and dont have issues with cross winds, so doubt you would.
  9. What sort of weight are you/ The lighter you are, side wind may impact more if you have a 50mm
  10. No, not a post about seats... Ok, have what i think is a 350mm seat post. it is currently at the minimum level that needs to be in the bike. Can you get a longer seatpots? like 450. is it a standard thing that shops hold, or is it a special order??
  11. Hmmmm, Maybe they did not want to put such nice wheels on the tar, so put down something slightly less.... Nooooooottttttttt!!
  12. Also went to Aaron at cyclefit. He moved my cleats on both road and MTB, changed road setup a bit and man O man felt brilliant. The issues that I had, after going for 2 previous setups at a bike shop, were cleared up in the first few rides with the new setup. I would recommend him to anyone, Brilliant!
  13. Potentially another option, a 404 back and 303 front.
  14. Num Num, I want same... Those G4's look amazing!
  15. That is very pretty... could put a 1080 on the back...
  16. Ok, fine, I understand the cost. It can be expensive, equipment, staff, etc... i understand. But if you chase people for money, at least have a system that makes it easy for people to order. I tried for a week to order a photo. At the end i got told, hey don't you want to phone back tomorrow, seems we can't do that for you now. There is actually a photo I want.
  17. Yeah not too exciting... stoped by the Specialized stand... SL2 Yummy... I want same!! Got there about 9h45 and got throught the place quick fast. Got to see the BH stand aswell, also very nice stuff. I was not too blown away by it. They could have done quite a but more.
  18. Ok, so we change chains, clusters, etc. regularly, what do you do with the old chainrings, clusters and chains? Do you weld them together and ask yourself "But is it art?" or what...
  19. Started in Q last year, got 3:00:17... Had a bad year in terms of training. did VERY little training... I found the trick, just rode my own ride at my own pace, if that was in a group great, if not, didn't care... Had the best ride of all my years doing 94.7
  20. 2h30 would be a dream for me... Done 2h43, but never got in to the 2h30's... fitter than have ever been, just hope all goes well.
  21. This is madness... I have noticed that there are a few bunches lately that simply do not care about other road users. Yes they need to train, but it is not that difficult to ride single file on narrow roads. Some people...
  22. That was a brilliant read
