Nige, How many sections do they want you to resurface, because you would struggle to get a better value material than a G6. You could stabalise the insitu material with cement or lime but its all very labour intensive. If they do this to all the world cup tracks then Danny Harts wet run will go down as legendary. Having riden cascades this year it would be a shame to make it into a bmx track !

Have you checked that its not the headset thats loose? Rock the bike and forth with the front brakes locked and you should be able to identify where the 'play' is.

Don't grab a handfull of brake - I use one finger braking & speed is your friend. There's probably nothing wrong with your setup,I'd guess that you going to slow. Brake before the turn and not in it if possible.If its sweeping switchbacks then its outside pedal and inside hand pushing down. I dont think there can be hard & fast rules but if its really techy, steep and rocky then you need to shift your pedals from outside to flat to avoid pedal strike.

I dont use my padded bike bag anymore, my bikes have been damaged by other baggage been thrown onto the bike bag. I now use a cardboard box from your LBC. Remove handlebars,peddals and rear derailer.Deflate tyres but not fork or shock. Then ask your shop for fork spacers and use them for the forks and swingarm. This will prevent any mishaps when your bike is a the bottom of the pile. Then what I do is put all my riding gear (clothes, lid, camelback)in between the frame in the box. Duct tape shut and away ya go.
